This past weekend, my fiancee and I moved across town to a new apartment. The new spot is closer to downtown, the brewery, the beach and the barbecue place. It's also closer to the tracks (much to Ashley's dismay). Tonight, I should have been unpacking boxes, but after a long day at work I couldn't bring myself to do it. As I sat on the couch flipping through a magazine, I listened to a pair of BNSF Railway GP38s switching cars just a block away. So I grabbed the camera and the tripod and walked down the street. It was a lot better than figuring out where the couch should go.

A week ago I moved to a different city to study my major degree, and I obviously brought my dolls with me! The not-so-good part is unpacking and arranging my dolls all over again😁.

BFVA was, as always, a ton of fun, and in keeping with BFVA traditions I returned home with a bunch of new stuff, a bunch of old stuff that I have to sort through again, and a mild virus working its way through my nose and throat. Normally I don't do shoutouts, but I feel the need to give special thanks to Jeremy, Jeff, Connor and Andrew for driving my ass around, to Will for putting up with my inane ramblings, and to Sander for being an all-around Cool Guy.

I swear I'll post some nifty stuff the next couple of weeks before I go back into hibernation.

Unpacking the kiln. The fired bricks are carried seven at a time to the nearby stockpile.

Sobering fact - Workers earn Rs150 (just over $2) for every 1000 bricks carried. And you think YOU have a hard life.

the worst part of returning home from a trip is the unpacking part and putting things away!! grrr. i'm kind of bad about it and sometimes live out of the suitcase for two weeks. ha. i put this stuff on my bed in hopes of putting it away but alas, i sat on the computer for most of the evening and am now about to shovel it back into my bag and hope that i'll put it away tomorrow. it's 1:37a.m. west coast time is kicking in and it's time for bed.

I finally got these horrible cupboards painted so I could unpack and organize my cameras.

I didn't count them, dang it. This doesn't include around 10 cameras I have out right now as my "daily shooters."

It's an illness.

If anyone can name them all, I'll send you one. :)

And here we are with another picture of the kitchen creation. More is on the way! ^^

Having some Photoshop fun today :)

Every time I go away, it's a reminder of how much more a girl needs to pack and unpack for a trip! Wish it was as simple as throwing my toothbrush and razor into my car and taking off!

Getting all my things up to my room and back again (that's my bedroom window, 2nd floor!) was a workout . . . . but followed by a leisurely stroll on the beach, flip-flops in hand, and letting the waves' gentle caress rejuvenate me . . body and soul!

When people regularly blow up your house, you learn to cut down on your possessions. It's less to move.

I also appear to have moved house (not due to Rebel attacks), who'd have thought I had so much stuff! At least this is proof that all of the camera things still work in the new place.

After removal from its transport container, LISA Pathfinder is transferred to a work dolly in the high bay of the EPCU (Ensemble de Préparation de la Charge Utile) S5C building at the Centre Spatial Guyanais, in Kourou.

LISA Pathfinder will test the fundamental technologies and instrumentation needed for such an observatory, demonstrating them for the first time in space. LISA Pathfinder is currently scheduled for launch with Arianespace flight VV06 – the sixth launch of Europe's small Vega launcher – on 2 December at 04:15:00 UTC.
