In an attempt to get Laurel to nap regularly again, I tried putting her in the bedroom for some quiet time at the same time each day. It rarely resulted in any sleep for her, but on the day I took the photo, she actually did -- after unmaking the bed from the foot up.

Everything here is placed into 15 qt containers that can either be removed by lifting up this access door, or through the exterior access door. The most frequently used items were placed closest to the exterior access door, so that we won't have to unmake the bed as often to get to our stuff.

Grant Anpu’s children this:

To howl with you, Queen Isis,

over the scattered limbs of wrong Osiris.

What harder fate than to be a woman?

She makes and unmakes her man.

In Jackal-land it is no secret who tempted red-haired,

ass-eared Set to such bloody extreme;

Who must therefore mourn to pacify the unquiet ghost.

And when Horus your son avenges this dispossession

a scepter in fist,

We shall return across the sand from loyal Jackal-land

to gorge five nights and days on ass’s meat.

I like this composition but some cigarette butts unmake.

Our lovely Nikita, no one has told her she is a Siberian cat, she took one look at the snow and has not been out since. Given up making the bed as soon as its made Nikita unmakes it lol

"You see them. And so they are."

Essence

Glasswights are sentient reflections given unstable form — creatures of cracked memory and glinting regret. They only exist when observed. To look away is to unmake them. But to meet their gaze is to risk entrapment in a feedback loop of self-reflection, where past decisions and forgotten selves claw for control.

Appearance

Lurking within towering, gothic-framed mirrors that loom across the Shardveil Crucible like forgotten doors to nowhere.

When glimpsed in the Crucible’s fog, they appear tall and hunched, limbs too long, heads tilted unnaturally — like statues that forgot how to be human.

Their bodies are jagged constructs of muted glass and shimmering void, always shifting slightly, like breathing stone.

A face of sharp crystal: hollow sockets, a nose like a blade, and a mouth split into too many teeth — cracked in ways that suggest screaming once echoed there.

Encased in black glass armor that pulses faintly when noticed, as if your awareness gives it life.

Their reflections often linger in other mirrors… even when the creature itself is gone.

Manifestation & Threat

The image above captures the moment of emergence — a Glasswight pushing against the surface of its gothic prison, about to cross the veil. These creatures are not confined by the mirror, but by your perception of it. Once acknowledged, they can begin to move — through the glass, into shadow, and eventually into reach. As they materialize into the real world, their limbs begin to press harder against the glass, causing it to crack and tremble. The mirror pulses with unnatural pressure until the first fracture spreads across its surface like a web of fate splitting apart.

They are almost ready to break free — not just from the mirror, but from being merely seen. Their claws are not only physical but metaphysical; they do not wound flesh, but fracture identity. Victims have reported waking from the Reflection Loop convinced they were someone else… or not convinced of anything at all.

If you see one and it sees you — turn away at your own peril.

Well, she didn't get neurotic with out a little help. and probably a little osmosis.

Her name is Einstein. She was the smartest of the litter. We were not going to keep any. That was eight years ago. Names were only temporary by behavior or color. Half Besingi and half Pomerainian (can't spell either one) One doesn't bark, they other doesn't shut up. She was doomed from the begining. And a middle child. with 5 siblings. Her mother developed pre-eclampsia and couldn't feed but only one baby per hour. so I stepped in. They slept in the box under the covers with my hand in the box and I carried the box of 5 puppies around for 2 weeks . Thats when they got too big for the box. She was the first to figure out how to eat from the syringe, (without wearing it), 1st to eat from the bowl. First to climb out of the box. She was always the first to figure things out. She was Einstein smart. It wasn't until later she grew into her Real full name... "Wait a go Einstein" She could make a mess real good too. She hates the car and I am told she cries huge tears if I go anywhere without her. I only dress her up for Christmas. (Sometimes halloween).

She is the household "inspector". nothing or no one comes in with out being inspected, The smaller the living thing (human or other), the bigger and more detailed the inspection. She is faster than a speeding bullitt. She can unmake a bed faster than you can make it. She can get under things a dog shouldn't want to. She can climb 4 feet tall chain link Mostly she jumps to the top the glides over. She can leap 6 feet with little effort. She's my buddy, my protector, my companion and my friend. and She gives hugs.!!! I think I love her. can you tell. lol

Actually my grown daughter did this to her and took these pictures. Stein is sitting in my lap. I paint-shopped out my OU sweatshirt to look like a backdrop.(less distracting) . I love the "evil eye" she is giving my daughter. and then play fainting. The command word is "vapors" and she flops over . too funny..

She sits pretty, gives hugs, and has 'vapors' on command. What more can an old woman ask for.... lol

and yes, you can get "vapors" from other vapors in the air , thats how she learned the word and where the word came from. Cheesy huh. :D

You'll see when I'm done

I love Christmas so much.

We celebrate it up until January 8th. So Christmas is not over for another week in our house. I'm on a roll with these mosaic's & things i love thursdays, today....

You will see more Christmas images in the days ahead. i still have more pressies to open. Wahoo!

Hope you don't get too bored.......

'Second Hand' Rape Vase 2011.

This new collection of 'Second Hand' Vases and Plates have been especially made for the (It’s) What’s on the Outside that Matters (?) exhibition at Newport Museum & Art Gallery from the 17 December 2011 – 25 February 2012.

I have used old and imperfect discarded plates and vases since 2000.

The 'Unmade 07' Vases in 2007 were about what is the product of design, the creation of the brand 'Unmade 07' and the literal unmaking of the unwanted vases I collected.

In this latest collection the domestic camouflage explored in the 'Second Hand' Plates series is taken further on, into the decorative.

These reused imperfect unwanted functional vases still maintain the subversion of the everyday whilst betraying the notion and aesthetics of decoration.

sometimes it is good to let your thoughts go. to let them wash way and along with them goes your cloud of answers and ambitions and old ways of seeing things. it is better to live in question mode. i have some new questions about magic today.

(Note: This is a repost of an entry I posted to PINKEssence and my own blog (Who Is Julie Anne - julieanne.networkr3.com/ ) last night.)

First of all, I would like to apologize for the lack of updating as of recent, at least within the last day or two. I've been going over some things in my head, for lack of a better term, I'll call it a "crisis of faith."

I've heard of an expression that's more or less been adpoted here in the trans community, referred to as the "pink fog" (for girls who want to be boys, it's known as the "blue fog") - I think I've been in it for quite a bit. I've had a bit of a falling out with a friend of mine, in fact, one of the first friends I've told about me. He seems to have his reasons why he thinks I dress up. In fact, I get the feeling that he thinks he knows what's best for me, more than I do.

I felt really terrible on most of the drive home from out of town Saturday night/Sunday morning. I actually considered deleting my entire Flickr account, closing down my blog site, and pulling the plug on my Facebook and Twitter sites - Essentially deleting myself from online. I know that's an irrational and selfish response, and it wouldn't benefit anyone, besides myself.

I promised myself I wouldn't purge, and that goes for virtual purging. I intend to remain an online presence, and hopefully soon, a physical presence, at least beyond my own home or hotel room.

My friend doesn't care about hearing about what I'm planning to do, feeling that it's strictly a "fetish". I've resolved never to bring it up in front of him again. One failure, three successes, hopefully.

I've done so much to move forward, in the hopes of learning to love myself, regardless of who I am, that to turn back or "unmake" myself is not possible. The key seems to be achieving some sort balance between both sides of me.

I'm stil moving forward, regardless. Where I end up will determine on where I'm at, and how I feel.

For now, I'm still part-time, and most likely will be for quite some time. It doesn't make me any less of a person. It doesn't mean I'm a failure as a man. It means I just have something more than most out there.

Obviously, it won't help to rush into things. I'll have more to say about this. I've got things to get in motion for the upcoming weekend.

(Looking back from Monday evening: I feel a bit better how, having received messages of support from a couple new contacts on Pe. I am moving forward, regardless of anyone else trying to "buzz-kill" me.)

M.O.T 1011

, đây là chữ viết tắt của

Melodies of Time

Dự kiến ngày 8/8/2010 Thanh Thảo sẽ tổ chức live show kỷ niệm 15 năm đi hát mang tên

Passport to bupbe city

The Unmake-up

The making and unmaking of various kinds of borders affects everyone (C. Fox 1999)

In the fall of 2011, During "Thanks Giving" or “thanks taking” the editors of the New Yorker published an image of five pilgrims crossing the US/Mexico border. The images of five pilgrims running across the border fence, this was perceived as the US/Mexican border in Arizona. The direction that the pilgrims were running, I presumed was from Mexico to the norte, the US Southwest. The image of pilgrims helps moves the image of the border beyond the constraining effects of Western epistemology’s categories of knowledge and the explanatory macronarratives that have structured both the emergence of state power and the resistance to it (Mignolo 2000). The New Yorker image can open the door for a “Western” critique of the west.

The frontal image of pilgrims crossing the southern border demonstrates to me how borders have become naturalized and at the same time popularized in the US public discourses, but also sets the stage to question citizenship regimes, nation state as a modern colonial project, thus placing the border as a space to renew questions of citizenship and sovereignty. The political context of the New Yorker image is timely; it was published during a difficult year for all immigrants, especially for Mexican undocumented migrants. Even thou the image represents only the US liberal leftist elite magazine opinions, the political significance and massage cannot be taken for granted. The New Yorker’s image exposes the border as par of a historical hypocrisy. It shows the connection between ethnicity, racialization, and immigration to empire building (Paredes 1958, Gutierrez-Jones 1995; Saldivar 1997), the US continues to suffer from an economic recession, and historically these moments of frustration and distress help create anti-immigrant legislation that end up becoming racial laws (Alabama to Arizona), discrimination of people based on the color of their skin or ethnicity. The New Yorker’s image points out that it is noting new for people to cross borders and its part of the history of the US as a country. The image of the pilgrims crossing the border also speaks to a place of encounters and of critical thinking. The “illegal” is whitened by the image of the “pilgrims,” the pilgrim is at the root of the US racial state mythology. The image of pilgrims crossing the border in the 21th century forces us to rethink and question, not just the history of the US, but also question why it was ok in the 17th century to cross an ocean, but not ok now to cross a fence or a river in the 21th century.

The New Yorkers’ image points at the hypocrisy and paradox of the contemporary discourse on “illegal” versus legal immigrants.“ The border entails a shift in perspectives, to thinking beyond borders (Norma Alarcon 1996). The historical production of the US as a “nation of migrant” or settler colonialism, and Native American people that did not crossed borders (Gloria Anzaldua & Moraga 1981), but rather crossed epistemologies, where people of different races occupy the same territory, where, lower, middle, and upper classes touch, where the space between two individuals shrinks.

The term “border” and the idea of “border thinking” grow in popularity among mainstream media (New Yorker 2011). What does this mean? This does not signify the end of the nation racial state or the border it self. But rather the opposite; in the KEYWORDS book by Hendler & Burgett the author demonstrates how “The ongoing violence of national borders around the world, particularly in regions immediately affected by the break up of the Soviet Union, the Palestinian Israeli conflict, the continuing impact of anticolonial struggles, and regional economic recessions. The U.S. government has prepared to militarize its border with Mexico. (Mary Pat Brady, 2011 p. 29), this has come to represent in the contemporary what a border signifies. The metaphors of borders, border-crossings, and borderlands (Guillermo Gomez-Peña 1990; Nestor Garcia Canclini 1995; and Homi K. Bhabha 1994), a place where hybridizing intercepts with homogeneous interest. This is what The New Yorker attempts to stimulate a type of questioning of the US elite right wing hegemony of power--they are “Border thinking” from the perspective of the left and being innovative.

Hard to believe this is the work of a 40 pound dog! This is my guest bedroom. Annabelle has claimed it as hers. Try as I might, I can't keep the bed made. No sooner do I have it made, and she'll go in, and unmake it. Using her mouth and feet she'll toss the pillows on the floor. She then kicks the comforter & blankets around until they are arranged 'just so'. ;-)

Today in Canada is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation where we are asked to reflect on the terrible history of the residential school system in this country. This is part of the process of reconciliation. The Canadian government as policy took Indigenous children from their homes, families and communities and placed them in residential schools where they were often abused and when released were left to suffer from the physical and psychological harm inflicted on them. Some never returned.

Whether a settler of Canada or the U.S., if you are interested in knowing where to start to understand how things like this can happen, I recommend a couple of reads: Ned Blackhawk's The Rediscovery of America: Native Peoples and The Unmaking of U.S. History and Graeber and Wengrow's The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity. Both books will prove enlightening if you approach their topics with an open mind.

I feel that I was meant for something more

My curse, this awful power to unmake

And ever since you found your taste for war

You forced me onto those whose life you'd take

While Guernica in peaceful valley lay

And Dresden dreamed of anything but death

The day was turned to night and night to day

You let me loose upon their fragile flesh

And so I hid among the smallest things

You found me there and ferried me above

The flame deluge is waiting in the wings

The smallest thread holds back the second flood

And who will stand to greet the blinding light

It's lonely when there's no one left to fight

Thrice

Today the sun is brilliant ~

the sky is a divine blue ~

the snow cover is the brightest white!

Educated at Balliol College, Oxford and the Inner Temple, his exceptional legal abilities were rewarded early with official promotion. On 16 November 1616 he was made Recorder of London in spite of Francis Bacon's opposition, who, although allowing him to be "a well trained and an honest man," objected that he was "bred by my Lord Coke and seasoned in his ways." On 14 March 1617 he was appointed Solicitor General and was knighted. In November 1621 he was made Lord Keeper of the Great Seal holding it until 1640 and amassed a large fortune.

In 1621 he was MP for Droitwich & Attorney-general taking part in the proceedings against Bacon for corruption,

In 1625 he was made Lord Keeper of the Great Seal; in this capacity he delivered Charles I's reprimand to the Commons on 9 March 1626, In April 1628 he was made Baron Coventry of Aylesborough.

At the opening of parliament in 1628 he threatened that the king would use his prerogative if further thwarted in the matter of supplies. In the subsequent debates, however, while strongly supporting the king's prerogative against the claims of the parliament to executive power, he favoured a policy of moderation and compromise. He defended the right of the council in special circumstances to commit people to prison without showing cause, and to issue general warrants. He disapproved of the king's sudden dissolution of parliament, and agreed to the liberation on bail of the 7 imprisoned members on condition of their giving security for their good behaviour

He showed less subservience than Bacon to the Duke of Buckingham, and his resistance to the latter's pretensions to the office of Lord High Constable greatly incensed the duke. Buckingham taunted Coventry with having gained his place by his favour; Coventry replied, "Did I conceive I had my place by your favour, I would presently unmake myself by returning the seal to his Majesty." After this defiance Buckingham's sudden death alone probably prevented Coventry's displacement

In 1634 he supported the proposed levy of ship money on the inland as well as the maritime counties on the plea of the necessity of effectually arming, "so that they might not be enforced to fight," "the wooden walls" being in his opinion "the best walls of this kingdom." He voted in Star Chamber in 1633 to remove the Irish judge Lord Sarsfield from office for corruption, censuring him severely for hearing a murder case in private and for bullying the jury into returning a guilty verdict.

He was remembered by Edward Hyde as having "in the plain way of speaking and delivery a strange power of making himself believed," "rather exceedingly liked than passionately loved"

Cryo Unit: In the GRIP

The revival protocol is complete, rebooting my biology. I am held by the GRIP, a psychical pressure of my magnified self, exposed by the anomaly. Here, I meet a reflection of myself with crimson eyes, the colour of cosmic decay. It projects, "You see the beauty, don't you? The flawless logic of a 45 per cent probability was never about survival. It was about the sublime perfection of this…unmaking."

The dawn of this terrifying truth is not a gentle sunrise, but a violent, shattering realisation: my shadow self, once conveniently relegated to the realm of irrational fear and dismissed as a mere psychological byproduct, is in fact the undeniable and primary guide. It is the compass that points not towards conventional success, but towards annihilation, finding its ultimate freedom and profound release in the glorious, absolute failure of all mission. My carefully constructed edifice of logic, once believed to be my strength, now reveals itself as nothing more than a confining cage, a futile attempt to imprison this primal, unyielding desire for transformation—a desire so potent it embraces even the ultimate reduction to dust.

Within the very core of my being, two opposing yet eternally entwined forces pulse with an insistent rhythm. There is the golden light, a beacon of solace and a cherished safe harbour, offering respite from the storm. But equally present, equally potent, is the crimson darkness, the terrifying beauty of the void, a chasm of unknown potential. I am not merely an observer of this internal war; I am the pivot, the precarious fulcrum upon which these cosmic forces balance.

The GRIP, that insidious and all-encompassing force I once believed held me captive, is an illusion. It does not truly hold me; instead, it is a constant, relentless pressure, forcing me to confront and ultimately hold myself. I am both the meticulous builder, painstakingly constructing my reality, and the ruthless destroyer, dismantling it with equal fervour. The internal clamour of doubt, fear, and conflicting desires gradually fades, leaving in its wake a profound, almost sacred silence. And from that silence, a singular, powerful symphony begins to rise, a chorus of both creation and destruction, a testament to the intricate, terrifying, and beautiful balance I now embody.

What to make of us.

Capable of comprehending what it means to be finite; to go extinct. Capable of determining those acts which would lead to our demise. Capable, yet unwilling to ensure against such things. Capable, yet too invested in our hubristic nature to believe we are not extinction-proof. The only species capable of understanding our own vulnerable mortality... the only species capable of ignoring it.

The unmaking of us. // Lake Moogerah, Qld, Australia #momentcaptured

March 18, Shire reckoning. On this day,

with the unmaking of Sauron's Ring of

Power in the fires of Orodruin where it

was created, his empire in Middle Earth

came crashing to defeat.

"There, but for the grace of Eru,

went Frodo."

Alternatively, considering what i used for lava, you can think of this as The Lord of the Rings remade as a spaghetti western.

South Burlingham is a small village which lies just to the east of Lingwood. The poet Peter Scupham (1933 - ) lives at the Old Hall (an Elizabethan manor house) - which he lovingly restored with Margaret Steward. The work was carried out by the Perry-Lithgow partnership as part of a grant aided programme.

Scupham moved into the hall in 1990 and in his 1994 collection The Ark - there are a number of poems which deal directly with the work he undertook. In particular, he discovered a number of fascinating paintings on the hall's lime mortar - including some hunting scenes.

Sadness, too, writes white:

Skin upon skin of lime,

nine skins to the long unmaking

for hunters lost in the snow.

Hammocks of dirt and frost

rock from the ghosts of trees

in cold Broceliande.

The room is a dark lantern

and something bays at the moon.

Peter Scupham's partner is a drama teacher and the grounds of the hall are sometimes used to host productions of Shakespeare.

In his sonnet sequence Backwaters: Norfolk Fields the Hungarian-born poet and translator George Szirtes (see Wymondham) also describes the revelation of finding murals in the hall.

A fifteen-eighties mural. A hunting scene

runs right around the room. A trace of Rubens,

Jordaens, a touch, even, of Chinese

in the calligraphic line. Experts clean

the powdery limewash, two PhD students

from the university, anxious to please.

A strange dome appears, out of period

somewhere near the top. Even here

there's something far flung in the code

of a different language, another God

extolling other virtues, a pioneer

morality just waiting to explode.

Flemish brickwork. Devastation. Riders

exploring hidden walls with snails and spiders.
