I had to do some asking around to identify this fish. Apparently it's a shiner fish and is used as bait to catch larger fish like bass and pike. The fishermen I talked to say it's basically a worthless fish, kinda oily and you wouldn't want to eat it.
"I was watching TV this morning, when my wife alerted me to this Great Blue Heron with a Fish in it's Mouth in the backyard between our Lanai and the Retention Pond. Usually, when I see a Large Bird in our backyard, by the time I go get my camera, whatever it was is long gone. Not this time, the Heron was holding the bird up and dropping it about twenty or thirty times while I was trying to Photograph it trying to stay out of sight. But the Bird was aware of my presence (as much as I tried to hide) and several times it picked up the fish and flew around to to a more distant part of the pond.
The Great Blue Heron is in the Scientific Family Ardeidae & the Scientific name is Ardea herodias.
I tried to sneak up on the bird several times at several spots along the pond trying to hide behind the Oak trees, taking hand held Photographs. Unfortunately, I didn't have my Telephoto Lens attached and my hands were very shaky. Although I took about thirty shots, these are the Best Photographs that I was able to take. I need to purchase a Blind to get ready for my next opportunity. I'm not sure what type of fish it was, but it had whiskers, but didn't look like a Cat Fish to me.

Constantly on the move, the fish on exhibit were a challenge to capture. I like these stripey guys and have no idea what they are. Their tank was near the sea otters in the Northern Pacific Gallery. Hope your days don't flash by so fast, my Flickr friends! Enjoy today!

A tourist enjoys swimming with a friendly female along the reef near Sting Ray City.
This is about as big as they get.
Females are larger than males and generally dominate the population.
I was able to swim with this one, too.
And I even kissed another for good luck.
So yes. I've kissed a sting ray.
In other news, David and I have officially been together for THREE YEARS now to the date. :D
Also, I'm leaving for Cuba tomorrow. This should be interesting...

The Cayman Islands are blessed with some of the most impressive coral reefs in the world. I'll be getting my dive certificate sometime soon, and will be studying the ocean life in this area of the sea as part of a marine biology class I'm currently taking at my new school.
It's a wild new world for me, as I've spent the majority of my life shooting above water. This will be an interesting couple of months...

Anyone know what type of fish this is?
(about 10" long, found in a freshwater lake in Michigan, early spring)
I think this is some sort of wrasse, but I'm not sure. I can't find a fish in my searches that looks like this guy.
One of my first times shooting underwater. It's a very neat experience! These fish were just a few feet away from me, and even came close enough that I could reach out and touch them on occasion.
Thus far, I've enjoyed my new life here, and look forward to five more months in paradise.
I'll have some photos to upload later of the sparatic lightning storms we've been witnessing off the coast. I can't wait for hurricane season to set in!

I can't remember what kind of fish this is, and I've spent hours searching with no luck. If you'd like, please let me know in the comments below if you recognise it. Thanks!
Trip to the Adventure Aquarium (formerly the New Jersey State Aquarium) in October 2007. Unfortunately not terribly scientific (more entertainment than educational), but still some nice displays.
There's a spotted fish in the top-left quadrant. Does anyone know what type of fish he is?
My Dad took these photos.
