The Brutalist architecture at the Kuring-gai campus of the University of Technology Sydney in the Sydney suburb of Lindfield, New South Wales, Australia. UTS Kuring-gai was designed by David Don Turner and built in 1971.
These are the entrance steps to the cafeteria.
Shot on Ilford FP4 Plus black-and-white film.

This is the final series for my photography subject at university.
Shot on a Bronica SQA with a 90mm lens and a 24mm lens, and on Kodak slide film.
It was shot in the squatter community of Tin City on Stockton beach near Newcastle. A really wonderful place whose undeniable relationship with a harsh and volatile landscape is explored in the series.

These architecturally significant buildings are abutted on two sides by equally significant suburban bush and the nearby Lane Cove National Park. The land, and I presume the buildings, were purchased by the University of Technology, Sydney, from the taxpayer, for the parsimonious sum of 1 (yes one) Australian Dollar. The unversity recently sold most of the land for millions of dollars to the Defence Housing Authority to allow for the construction of residential buildings housing about 350 people. As a near neighbour I'm NOT happy, Jan!! It's interesting that our near neighbour WAS our recently elected NSW State Premier, Mr Barry O'Farrell (AKA by some as Mr Fatty O'Barrell), who appears to have removed himself from the area as fast as his fat little legs will carry him. Perhaps he was not happy with all the extra traffic being introduced to the backstreet running past his former home.
Oh well, that's life but I'm genuinely concerned for the quality and future of the nearby bush which is not only an important bushland corridor but is in relatively good condition. But for how long, the indications are not good.

In Australia? Pretty poor. John Allsopp premieres his Allsopp Scale, the measure of how crap a website is. I'll be using this at work, that's for sure!
