Every week goes by without my entering the Unity Friends With Flair challenge, so this time I pulled out one of my Itty Bitty stamps and whipped something up. I used A Penny For Your Thoughts by Unity to make this retro design. I just love those little children and the LOVE sentiment. I was even inspired to pull out my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to do some coloring.

I also wanted to enter the challenge at PaperCrafters Corner for Magazine Monday Week 98, which showed a Mothers Day magazine cover as the inspiration. However, both my mother and mother in law are gone now so I made a LOVE card instead. The card uses a set by Unity Stamps and the scribbled circle and little icons are by Close to My Heart. I colored the little children with Spectrum Noir markers and die cut the red circle with a Spellbinders die. The banner is hand cut. When I was almost finished with the card I realized that I had left a small ink mark on the upper right card corner, which was very obvious...oh no! I couldn't figure out how to cover it without throwing the whole card design off so I cut the top corners at an angle....the mark is gone! Whew!

Unity Temple, 1905-1908, Frank Lloyd Wright, 875 Lake St.
One of the most important Wright's building in the beginning of the 20th century. Many people think it's the first modern building. Concrete only. Double core: the taller side is the Temple, and the shorter side is the House. No window at the street side. Lighting mostly from roof windows with yellow and green stained glass.
Wright said when he designed this building, for the first time he realized that the true soul of a building is not wall but space.
Unity describes the ability of a photos' subjects to work together and create a unifying visual that makes sense and isn't jarringly unfitting. In this example, randomly spaced water bottles fill the frame, but they all work together to create a visual that is still clean and simple to understand.
