#IBEW569 members working for Morrow Meadows are building the new Kaiser San Marcos hospital. This new North County $400 million hospital is scheduled to open in 2023.

 

Located in the heart of San Marcos, the new $400 million hospital is scheduled to open in 2023, and is intended to enhance community health and wellness with acute care, labor and delivery, surgical, emergency and intensive care services.

 

The LEED Gold designed project brings more than 500 union construction jobs throughout the building process.

University of California registered nurses walked picket lines Tuesday, May 8, and Wednesday, May 9, in a sympathy strike with other union co-workers at the University’s five major medical centers and 10 student health centers. This sympathy strike was called in solidarity with members of AFSCME Local 3299, who struck over their collective bargaining contract dispute with the UC administration. A third union, University Professional & Technical Employees/CWA members at UC facilities also participated in the sympathy strike.

 

This is the first time UC nurses have walked a picket line. A 98% majority vote by RNs authorized this historic sympathy strike.
