I don't know many flowers with such a powerful name. When it comes to that, the forget-me-nots must have outstriped the roses as the flower of the loving for some time already. But maybe they are just to tiny and don't like the big show. I'm fascinated of them anyway, with their blossoms like made of marzipan and I will never forget to shoot them at least once every year.
Ich kenne nur wenige Blumen, mit so einem kraftvollen Namen. Wenn es danach ginge, müsste das Vergißmeinnicht der Rose schon lange den Rang der Blume der Verliebten abgelaufen haben. Doch vielleicht sind sie einfach zu klein und stehen nicht so auf die große Show. Ich finde sie trotzdem faszinierend, mit ihren Blüten wie aus Marzipan und werde es nie vergessen, sie in jedem Jahr mindestens einmal zu fotografieren.

San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena, Tuscany, north-central Italy. The town also is known for the saffron, the Golden Ham and its white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, produced from the ancient variety of Vernaccia grape which is grown on the sandstone hillsides of the area.

It was a lovely cold and clear day today and we went for a drive to Narkanda,some 70 kms from here.There has been fresh snowfall on the peaks and they were sparkling white today.This is a view of the peaks from Fagu some 20 kms from Shimla.The building with the red roof is the Hotel Apple Blossom of the Himachal tourism department.

White Fawn Lily, Erythronium oregonum
Growing quite happily in a field of many more along with headstones that mark the final resting place of people who'd been laid to rest long, long ago in a small, remote country churchyard on Victoria Island.
This photo reminds me to celebrate life, perhaps that's part of the attraction of a graveyard. It is where we may come to rest, it is where we honor those at rest and realise that to live is to be blessed, if only for a brief moment. It reminds me to grab life, to plant seeds of love, hope and dreams. And it's all the better to do it all with you, so that they will not wither, only grow.
For when I am with, I feel more alive than without. When i am with, there is more color and delight, there is more day, and night becomes a time to sleep and play. And no task or challenge seems too big, and inspiration knows your name, and when I call it, i am on my game.
