The Fave clicks are how I check, who are actively following me, so please don't forget to hit the Fave button regularly.

And If I happen to unfollow you, just give me a few faves and most likely I will add you to my list again... :)

Known for his genuine originality and one of the great vocalists, songwriters and composers of his generation, Rufus Wainwright performs songs from his Grammy-nominated album 'Unfollow The Rules'. Long lauded for his sophistication and wit, he is now working at the peak of his powers, with music guided by passion, honesty and a newfound fearlessness..

To me it is the Fave clicks that really indicate, who my active followers are.

I have always been generous with my own Faves, but things go both ways, so I regularly drop contacts that don't appear to Fave back.

In case I unfollow you, don't get mad - soon as I notice your Fave on my pictures again, I will follow you back. :)

Finally had some uninterrupted time to spend on Flickr. Besides being busy, who isn't, often I'll have 30 minutes or an hour of free time, but feel overwhelmed at the prospect of jumping in, knowing I won't get many visits in. I know, many of you have said don't worry, pickup with latest posts. I hate missing what you've shared. So here's what I'm going to do; hop on the live feed whenever I have just a little time. I think that will help me from falling too far behind.

Also, need to probably unfollow a few folks that have apparently given up on Flickr, haven't posted for more than 6 months and are no longer visiting. Then add some of the folks that have been following my work pretty regularly. If I had time I'd follow a couple of hundred, but I don't. Keeping until retirement to 100 or less is hard enough as is.

Note to people I don't follow, those that visit and just fav, I'll do my best to visit and return the favor, it's only fair. If I'm not currently following you and you'd like me to, please fav and comment on pictures you like, I'll notice that more than favs alone. If you've read this far, you're probably somebody that should be added.

About this picture; took it just over two years ago near the top of Donner Pass. Decided with so many pictures ready to post I'm going to alternate between newer pictures and older pictures. Some of my personal favorites are languishing in digital purgatory waiting to be seen. Gotta help em out.

Finally, thank you to my best Flickr friends. You've encouraged and taught me much. Know I try to return that friendship with every visit.

I'm still not able to believe so much of you like what I do! I didn't dare to say anything so far, I thought: ah Shara, they will unfollow you soon.

But you are still here..

I would like to say a huge thank you guys, thank you for stay with me on my SL journey, I am very grateful to you all!

Have a nice weekend, take care and spread love! ^.^

Second life: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Le%20Monde%20Perdu/130/47/24

I couldn't go to sleep last night, there was (another) strange feeling in the air, the dogs were barking, the Antonovs' sounds always worry them for long hours, then I received news and photos of Dandelion, now named Hugo (this photo is taken by his forever mother last Autumn, while his family visited Germany), he's well and very happy and he has a little human sister, one week old. I felt happy and smiled a lot, and right after I felt ashamed because at the same time children and people under Azovstal are living in terror.

Right now, while I'm writing, there's a piece of news on the TV that Azovstal is under siege from the ground and from the air.

It's Holy Week for russians too, how can they do that?

Please, God, open thy eyes!

I let the comments open, but you don't have to say anything, don't have to be polite, don't have to feel mercy, say something only if you really want to be heard.

Dear friends, you always have the choice to unfollow, no resentment.

Thank you for listening!

“Hello, is that Mr Bezos?”

“Ah yes, good. Glad I caught you. It’s me again. You know me - the one who’s always buying coffee and cat food from you. I bought a new compost bin last January, remember?”

“Yes, that's the one. Now I wonder whether you can help me. I’m in a bit of a spot you see. I need a new polarising filter pretty quickly. One of the circular magnetic ones, seventy-seven millimetres. Have you got any in stock?”

“Brilliant. Could you rush one over to me please? This afternoon if you can. Preferably before the golden hour.”

“Oh you can? For an additional postage and packing fee, well that’s ok in the circumstances I suppose. Yes, two hours is quite short notice I’ll admit.”

“Well yes, the only thing is that I’m not home to sign for delivery right now you see. I’m standing on top of a sand dune in Iceland.”

“Yes I did say Iceland. Can I put that down as a temporary address please? Nice compost bin by the way. The fruit flies love it.”

Ok so that conversation didn’t happen. I believe Mr Bezos doesn’t take sales orders in person - well not mine anyway - and they have an app for this sort of thing. The app that I was browsing as I stood on top of said dune, cursing myself for having failed to learn from past errors. You see the trouble is I’m forever stuffing my filter case into a coat pocket and then forgetting about it as I crouch and stoop to examine compositions from different heights in an attempt to work out what to do with the tripod. And now for a second time in recent months, the polarising filter at the front of the pack had taken the strain one too many times, bruising and fracturing inside the case without me realising. Without a backup, I was going to have to manage the final six days of our trip without one. Not ideal. If any of the ND filters had succumbed, I could have worked my way around whatever shutter speed I was after, but you can’t replicate a polarising filter.

It didn’t take me long to find a replacement that was in stock, and I felt slightly happier in the knowledge that it was currently on sale at a ten percent discount. An order was rapidly placed, and Mr Bezos duly trousered another few pounds. The new filter would be lying on the doormat the next morning - over a thousand miles away. Maybe I should have bought two for when I repeat my blunder, as I inevitably will. But for now I had a problem. And maybe a solution too. Not a very good solution, but worth a try at any rate. Shooting at the sort of aperture I’d normally select here was out of the question, but perhaps if I opened up wide I might just get away with it. And so I tried a focus stack at f5 with a broken polariser. Desperate moments sometimes call for daft measures. And when the golden dunes are doing their thing, you really need a polariser. A large rake to smooth away the footprints in the sand wouldn’t go amiss too, but I didn’t have one of those with me either. Maybe we’re all missing a trick there. Especially us coast dwelling togs. Essential photography accessory number four hundred and sixty-five - a garden rake. I don’t suppose Easyjet would allow that in the cabin would they?

If it were somewhere I could get back to easily, this picture would never have seen the light of day. It’s as flawed as the process taken to create it was. Soft corners, areas out of focus because three exposures evidently weren't enough. If I called a recent image “Best Viewed Large,” this one should be named “Best Viewed Tiny.” But the golden glow on those dunes was worth the effort as far as I was concerned. Just don’t go pixel peeping into this one, or you’ll be hitting the “unfollow” button about four seconds later. I didn’t even have the sense to take one without the polariser at f11. Brain failure on a scale as grand as the vista in front of me. Just allow your eye to wander across the glow to Vestrahorn if you will. Despite the drawbacks, it’s still an image that makes me stop and smile at the memory. Far from a special image, but a very special time at a place that’s never too distant from my thoughts.

Nowadays I mostly do exactly what I should always have done, especially bearing in mind that the tripod has a ring onto which the filter case is easily clipped. Why did I never do this before? And of course at times I still find myself casting around for the filters before feeling for and finding them in my coat pocket. Absent-mindedness often comes at a cost. So far the latest polariser has remained intact, but you can be sure that at some point it will happen again and I’ll be wishing I’d bought that spare in the event of emergencies. With fools like me around who are too lazy to look anywhere else when the app does it all in a couple of minutes, Mr Bezos won't starve in his dotage, even if he doesn’t yet deliver to sand dunes in Iceland.

Taken inside a garden at Wat Ounalom. Not exactly sure what it is, but Google Lens identified it as Cactus Coreid, a.k.a. a Chelinidea vittiger bug. S/he must have been napping in the sun since I got very close for this capture and s/he didn't move. 😁

PS: to those I follow 🙋♂️

Apologies for falling behind with comments and faves. After I turned sixty, I thought I would have more free time but I'm now working six days a week from 6 AM to 6 PM. I love my job; not complaining too much, but it's taking a toll on the free time I have for Flickr. Taking a timeout for a month or two. No hard feelings if you unfollow me.

Thank you for your understanding! 💖

Yeah, this is taking the place of an actual custom I was going to post. Sue me.

(If this is the reason why any of you unfollow me, I don't blame you.)

When I'm out in the city trying to capture stories sometimes I think, "What's on that mailbox's mind (or stop sign or deliver van)?" 🤔

OK - but before you unfollow me, just look at that Pepsi machine all alone up there. No one is has been taking the L as much during this pandemic, so I know those drinks have to be 2019 versions.

Hi, friends. I feel badly that I haven’t been able to keep up properly with all of your posts. It has become increasing difficult for me to do so. I love to see your work and to support you, but I find that I don’t even have time to take photos myself, and I miss this so much. I took some photos up at the lake yesterday, and it felt really great. I’m not sure how to balance the demands of social media and keep doing what I love too. As always I am extremely grateful for your kindness and generosity. If you feel that I am not reciprocating adequately, I understand if you need to unfollow me or whatever. I will miss you though. <3 Please take good care, and continue to find quiet/peaceful moments for yourselves.

Do you want to know what one of my biggest pet peeves is in regards to photography? Chemtrails!

"Oh my god he believes in Chemtrails, quick unfollow, he's a tin foil hat wearing, conspiracy theorist nutjob!!!"

Yea probably, but you do know the CIA already admitted it? Calling it - "Stratospheric Aerosol Injection". I'll leave it that, but trust me, I could really go on!

As for the photo itself, I feel this really reflected the road through life, how we feel, how we experience, how we hurt and heal, how we scar and learn, how we love and let go only to love again, so and so forth. Call me an old cynic but I never trusted perfection, after all, we live somewhat by the navigation of comparability, no sees the same shade of blue on a clear day, so they say (especially when there's no chemtrails), it's all in the eye of the beholder, it's all just an experience, isn't it interesting that your eyes are tools of vision yet perception is merely a personal opinion. Thank god we have a pineal gland!

I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

A photo to forget about this sad BREXIT day. I feel surprisingly sad at the moment but on reflection the sun will rise tomorrow. For anybody alienated by my feeling on this reality please feel free to unfollow.

Amateur photographer, convinced that you always learn something. I don't like saccharine comments, and I don't practice them. For me, if you like my photos, it is enough to add them to your favorites. I usually cancel any person who claims to follow me for abusing their posts, or for blatantly persecuting me to follow them without accessing my content. I also unfollow those whose posts I consider to be repetitive or lack photographic quality, and there are many. I sincerely appreciate your visits. My other great hobby is writing www.derelatos.net/ which I invite you to visit.

IMPORTANT:

If you are one of the people out there who look at 'underlying health conditions' in people dying from Covid-19 and think that those people don't matter then please feel free to unfollow me on Flickr as I will not enter into a discussion with you about this subject.

I just saw a headline in the Telegraph, a UK Newspaper sometimes referred to as the 'Torygraph', proudly boasting that only 6 'healthy' UK children have died from Covid-19. This comes on the day when the 110th child has died in the UK from Covid-19 or the complications of Covid-19. That headline implies that the other 104 children's lives meant nothing because they had 'underlying health conditions'.

Did you know that the term 'underlying health conditions' refers as much to cancer as it does to an ingrown toenail. It could be a child with ADHD, a child with asthma, a child with a now-treated congenital heart defect, a child with diabetes or any other disease. There is nothing to say that those children wouldn't live long and fulfilling lives contributing to society.

Over 2/3 of those 110 deaths have occurred since September when schools returned with no mandatory masks, distancing, ventilation policy and no vaccination programme effectively in place.

I know some of you hate it when I get political but I am not generally political in a partisan sense here, for me it is always about the humanity or lack thereof that brings me to comment.

The shameful inhumanity of that Telegraph headline and anyone who thinks along the same lines is beyond words. I have 3 of the top 4 co-morbidities for Covid-19. I have numerous underlying health conditions. I developed them as a direct result of working to help others. My life is worth no less because of them and I could, hopefully, go on to live many more decades yet.

We are one species on one tiny blue planet in the vastness of space. It's about time we worked together rather than fought against each other. Stay safe my Flickr friends.

One of the few days this winter when the sunset was not all grey and dull but sunny and colorful. The photo was taken by the Narew river in my hometown on one of those few days when there was some sun and I managed to get to the place just after work. The lines in the river is floe going down the river - it was quite cold at that time.

Dear friends, please forgive me I haven't visited your streams in a really long while. I just haven't had the time. I still don't but just wanted to share a photo to let you know I am alive. I understand if you decide to unfollow me since I am a poor follower but still hope I'll be forgiven.

Enjoy your week and follow your passions.

Okay, let the Vegas photo barrage begin!

Look out everyone! Quick! Unfollow me as quick as you can... I took a whole heapin' load of shots over the last few days and just maybe, a number of them might be... well, kind of okay. And, even if they ain't. if I have had a civilized pint or two, hell! I just might post 'em anyway!

Highlight of the trip: a late day breakthrough of the sun, in what had become a mostly overcast afternoon, as it flitted over the landscape of Lake Mead, changing the panorama in a visual display of Mother Nature's beautiful glory.

Soooo, my last picture managed to put me on Flickr's radar since I had quit blogging and no longer needed a Pro account.. Well, now geared with a pro account I'm gonna make it my mission to post so much gay sh-t.

Soo as said last time. Happy Pride everyone. Your love is valid and if you have issues with what I'm saying, please feel free to unfollow.

Still got a few shots of this falcon to post so posting 3 today I just got this guy in the far corner but liked it too much even though its out of frame I think it works I have removed Jesses & transmitter in all these shots

I would just like to say why do people act like sheep on here ok if you don't like this shot fair enough each to their own I see so many images on here that are quite frankly awful yet they get lots of comments faves ..that doesn't bother me really but if a person sees a shot not getting comments or faves then most people copy that yes this is out of frame but its a great shot and works in a artistic crop there has been award winning shots that are only just in frame sorry I had to say that if you don't like it please unfollow me.

Know who you are in this world. Without self knowledge it's easy to be subjected to self hate without even realizing it. How many layers do you wear to fit in on the worlds stage? Are you loved for who you are, or what the world wants you to be? It's upsetting to me to see what we do to ourselves for attention. Altering what were born with to fix our insecurities. You should never pay for love and acceptance. We were born with what we have from a higher power, and our mothers and fathers. You will never find true love without love of your true self. We all have insecurities, but true love is the love of ones imperfections. Knowing that someone loves you for not being perfect is the best feeling in the world, for being Perfectly Imperfect. I do speak my mind on my page so if you don't like it, please be so kind and hit the unfollow button.

If buffers and chains scare you and you think trains do not exist outside of the US and Canada it might be a good time to unfollow. However if you like high hood ALCO's in exotic scenery then stay tuned. The pseudo time-lapse of that night.

It makes me remember that wonderful show.

Thinking about this clip, I can't believe it only has 14 faves. It's a wonderful video after a hard work. So, I don't understand people that I'm following (all of them are following me too) but they don't fave many of my pictures. Therefore, excuse me if I unfollow you by the moment.

Hey guys !

So here's my latest custom minifig (actually no, not my latest, I got another one done, just need to take the pictures and edit it and I'll be able to post it) But yeah, maybe some of you know, I've started playing CS:GO and got really addicted to it...I don't know if you're familiar with the game, but this is one of the Counter Terrorists player models that is in the game. I've always found this one really awesome and cool looking, so I thought I'd make a Lego out of it.

Everything here is sculpted (except the guns of course) and handpainted by me :)

"But Gabriel ! Why does he have an M4A4 on his back AND a AK47 in hands ? That's not game accurate ! Unfollow !"

I don't know, I just really wanted to paint an AK47 Case Hardened :)

So yeah, really hope you like the figure, please do tell me what you think about it in the comments !

Have a great day ! :D

We are taking pictures of money today at We’re Here!

I decided to combine my Money Collection with a beautiful source image provided by Kreative People Administrator, Xandram. It’s for the “Treat This” challenge 168, and you can see a thumbnail of the original in the first comment box below.

I also wanted to tell a story about the great outing I had yesterday visiting an area involved in the California “Gold Rush”. The history on display is so "enriching"! I saw the historic pioneer cemetery in Marysville, Yuba County, and stopped by an old mining town site in Butte County called Oregon City to see a covered bridge and an 1800's one-room schoolhouse. The highlight of my glorious day was a long ramble on Table Mountain, where vernal pools, little seasonal streams, and a multitude of spring wildflowers are delivering a show-stopping display. You see some of the “California Gold” here in my collage which features goldfields (Lasthenia californica) and yellow carpet (Blennosperma nanum).

I hope I’ll have time in the coming days to sort through the nearly 1,000 photos, and check on my id’s of over two dozen different species. If you don’t care for wildflowers, you might want to “unfollow” me for a little while! ;-)

And a final note: HSS and Happy Easter!

If I comment on your photos and Fav any of your photos, please reciprocate so we can make Flickr a photographer social network - several comments and/or favs by me and no reciprocating, I will unfollow your stream. Thank you!

Tall waders with broad wings and a distinctive red crown, sandhill cranes (Antigone canadensis) are a spectacular sight, gathering in large flocks during their annual migrations.

Juvenile sandhill cranes develop quickly after hatching, but do not reach their full adult size and mass until they reach between 10 and 12 months. Juvenile sandhill cranes are rust-colored rather than having the gray-and-white plumage and red cap seen in adults. Young are born with a covering of golden down and are able to leave the nest and feed themselves within 24 hours of hatching.

A digital art image, manipulated in Lightroom. I can hear my Flickr followers all over Earth saying 'WTF' and clicking the 'unfollow' button after seeing this series, haha... Cheers!

The start of an amazing evening in Bodie Historical Park. Bodie was the largest town in California in its hay day. Today, it is a ghost town. Due to Covid, a 5 person group I organized dropped down to just 2 of us. We had the whole place to ourselves from 6pm to 1am. Well, unless you count the ghosts.... It was otherworldly.

In between postings of Perseid Meteors, get ready for some night images of Bodie. Better unfollow me now. Thar be ghosts....

I'm close to giving up on this 365 project as a published project on Flickr and keep it as a personal project offline. I'd say the worst part about the 365 project is that on some days you just don't feel like shooting but still have to pull something out of the bag. Inevitably this means bad pictures which often leads to quite a number of 'unfollows' which is pretty demoralising for us users who only manage 100-200 followers. I'd be interested to hear your comments on this.
