Macro Mondays: 5 Letters

Antechinus Skull:- a carnivorous Marsupial Mouse I found that had been run over on the back road. The ears helped me identify it at the time. I've saved the bones to show the children at my Child Care Centre. The children have made the jaw bones separate from the skull so they're not in the right spot ... serious underbite, now :))

"Small native carnivorous marsupial, greyish-brown above and paler below. Long pointed head with bulging eyes and four pairs of small sharp incisor teeth. Ears are large, thin and crinkly with a notch in the margin. Tail is the same length as the body or shorter and is sparsely haired. It weighs up 71 grams."

Flora: tiny native geranium.

A hungry pair of pinking shears looking menacing and pretty with that jagged steel edge.

Macro Mondays - Jagged

7 Days With Flickr - Anything goes Mondays

Dog looking for its friends/family down at the beach. This little love was quite a sweety :-)

Wintering in southern Ontario, this White-throated Sparrow is very close to the northern limit of the species' typical winter range. This particular bird also has a significant underbite, however, s/he seemed to feed successfully without any obvious difficulty, and preening must not be an issue since her/his feathers were in good condition. It's probably helped that s/he has found a location where food is plentiful.

For the flickr group, "Smile on Saturday," and June 3rd's theme: "Meet cute." And with that adorable underbite he certainly is! My pal, Bugsy.

Honestly this started as "How many things can I shove into a Phantoka jetpack"

And for the record, bendy hoses are frickin awesome.

Our Havanese Heidi showing off her underbite

Another image that fell between the cracks, sitting in my hard drive for over 10 years–a '65 Pontiac with an underbite, spattered with fresh rain drops. Beyond midnight, at the abandoned Pearsonville junkyard, in March 2011. The S means it survived the the 2011 crush, but it probably went in the 2020 round that cleared the yard. Two minutes of full moon and flashlight.

I have to say, Charlie puts up with a lot from me. I wrapped this garland with fake leaves around his neck when we hiked out the other day to take some Still Life in the woods.

I was hoping to get a nice Fall Themed Shot.

Charlie with his underbite and funny expression was just too charming to pass up.

I'm putting this on a card and sending it to some of Charlie's fans in Missouri. Two young boys that adore him.

They need some cheering up as the family is under Quarantine.

This is rather an odd bird with a strong underbite. The longer lower mandible is perfectly adapted to its style of fishing. It flies low over the water surface with its bright orange beak agape, the knife-like lower bill slicing the liquid. Any fish or shrimp too slow to dodge is snapped up. About 20% of the total population of fewer than 2,500 birds nest along river Chambal. Villagers here call it pancheraa, that which tears water.

Breeding colonies are known from the Chambal River area, an area that is of importance for the gharial. Sand banks are important for the nesting of Gharials. They have also been documented as breeding on the banks of the Mahanadi River.

The Chambal River is a tributary of the Yamuna River in Central and Northern India, and thus forms part of the drainage system of the Ganges. It is a legendary river and finds mention in ancient scriptures. It is considered pollution free and hosts a diverse riverine faunal assemblage including two species of crocodilians – the mugger and gharial!

A Shih Tzu (English: /ˈʃiːtsuː/; Chinese: 西施犬; pinyin: xīshī quǎn), also known as the Chrysanthemum Dog, is a toy dog breed, weighing 10 - 19 pounds when fully grown. The exact origins of the breed are unknown, but it is thought to have originated in Tibet and then been developed in China although various hypotheses exist. The Shih Tzu is a sturdy little dog with a short muzzle and large dark eyes. They have a soft and long double coat. A Shih Tzu should stand no more than 28 cm (11 in.) at the withers and with an ideal weight of 4.5 to 8.6 kg (10 to 19 lbs). Drop ears are covered with long fur, and the heavily furred tail is carried curled over the back. The coat may be of any color, though white and with blazes of grey are frequently seen. The Shih Tzu is slightly longer than tall, and bigger dogs ideally should carry themselves "with distinctly arrogant carriage". A very noticeable feature is the underbite, which is required in the breed standard.[1] The traditional long silky coat, which reaches the floor, requires daily brushing to avoid tangles. Because of their long coat and fast-growing hair, regular grooming is necessary, which may be expensive and should be taken into account when considering adopting one of this breed. Often the coat is clipped short to simplify care. For conformation showing, the coat must be left in its natural state, though trimming for neatness around the feet and anus is allowed. The shorter cut is typically called a "puppy cut"[2] or a "teddy bear cut" when the puppy cut is accompanied by a fuller, rounder face, resembling a stuffed animal.[3]

I will appreciate any comment, fave on my photo. No multi invites please. I do not welcome any photo made by a cell phone

Oh, yes! Ranger helped himself to a friends cat litter box the other day. The way he was chowing down you'd think he found a gold mine. No worries, he's brushed his teeth since then.

Franklin is 5 1/2 years old.

I think he likes me!

Kayla, a rescued Chihuahua from Tijuana, Mexico, now living in San Diego, rests her eyes after hours of monitoring nearby outdoor activities from a condominium window.

Charlie waited patiently while I squatted in the Big Spring to look at the flowers.

If you look closely, you will see his lip curled up. It looks hilarious, but it is from his mom who had an underbite. Apparently it is a Pekinese trait.

He is getting to be very patient with me. He still gets to lead the way on almost every adventure we take.

Charlie is fun and amazing with his tiny legs and Dachshund attitude.

:)

Lantern Fish has an underbite, but that is only part of its charm. Its eyes and lantern sparkle excitedly when he meets new friends, even if they run away when he smiles at them.

Maybe you should take it easy Gil, there's no way you're beating this ride.

Cedar Waxwing at RBG. Looks like this Waxwing has an underbite.

What do you mean, underbite?

1:6 John Simm from the side. He has a distinctive underbite, which is quite challenging.

Sable was rescued from a hoarding situation. She is only about four but she looks older to me. Her owner thinks her underbite is cute.

She lives with the other rescue dog, Stella.

Lynn's dogs.

She started out at the back of the lounge chair, sitting pretty. But as soon as I pulled out the puperoni treat from my pocket, Aida about jumped off the chair at me. ;-)

I put my palm up and out and said, "STAY"... Caught her at just the last second and here she waited patiently for me to get the shot. Treat given... and a few more too.

Aida is a rescue dog and that is her natural underbite.

Byron Lotton, the chief engineer that developed the Glave, was furious when it was stolen. After the initial attempts at recovery failed, it became clear that a second DCS (Dominance Class Starfighter) would be needed. Much of the advanced tech used in the Glave was impossible to replicate for various reasons but Byron believed he could come up with something just as cutting edge.

The Reclamation was designed and developed in just over a year. It is piloted by none other than Byron Lotton himself. The Glave will be found...

Summer 2018

While waiting for a friend to join me for coffee I had the chance to meet and become acquainted with this handsome Bull. He was equally enthusiastic about our newfound friendship and promptly went about displaying his glorious underbite for the duration of our encounter.

Today we had to go to the animal clinic in heavy rain. In the car, we felt very comfortable, but when we were to jump into the rain, we simply refused. Walti then simply lifted us out of the car. We had no chance to do something against it.

But in the clinic everything was good again. We had to stand on the scales and show our teeth. It was a little annoying and I would have liked to nibble on the fingers of the veterinarian, but this is not allowed, our boss has said. Because we have been so good, there have been really good treats. We like to go again, but with sunshine .. ;)))

Tschowanoli and Babetli have an underbite. It had to be checked. So far everything is OK. Now we wait for the tooth change and then we look again like the "big" develop. .

Yup, this mutt's got an underbite ... but it serves her well. She's able to clean off a venison neck like nodog's business, and easily scoops up loose change from a hardwood floor for me.

This boxer puppy's underbite is so severe that I decided to paint her with the stick in her mouth.

The Boxer is a medium to large, short-haired breed of dog, developed in Germany. The coat is smooth and tight-fitting; colors are fawn, brindled, or white, with or without white markings. Boxers are brachycephalic (they have broad, short skulls), have a square muzzle, mandibular prognathism (an underbite), very strong jaws, and a powerful bite ideal for hanging on to large prey. The Boxer was bred from the Old English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser which became extinct by crossbreeding rather than by a decadence of the breed. The Boxer is part of the Molosser group. This group is a category of solidly built, large dog breeds that all descend from the same common ancestor, the large shepherd dog known as a Molossus. The Boxer is a member of the Working Group.

Trying to keep myself from wearing my teeth away.I have a cross underbite and bruxism. This new one from the dentist seems to be working though. At least I'm not spitting it out when I sleep now.

Again with no ideas. Fussed with makeup.

Got white paint in my eye. Washed my face three times.

Ugh.

Feeling dark but didn't feel like repeating yesterday. ;-)

I thought about textures...but dang, I know I'll just end up hating them all. ;-)

I've also changed the title a thousand times.

Don't be surprised if it changes again.

I'm so glad it's friday. I can't say it enough.....

Yay for DoF and blank walls. *sigh* I'm tired.

Random Fact du jour: I can see today. Got my contacts. I'm over the initial headache now, and my, the world looks fucking crisp.

Roscoe, our beloved Chihuahua, passed away earlier this year.

After much searching, Bugsy--the adorable little doll with the underbite, pictured above--came into our life.

God we love this fun, loving, sweet little rascal!

More to come.
