“Love is supreme and unconditional; like is nice but limited”.~ Duke Ellington

To make peace with my imperfections, I often remind myself of my countless blessings. To be a human is a unique and extraordinary gift, and it's vital to remember the divinity of each individual. By connecting with the beauty of nature, one can reflect the sense of awe they receive from the natural world onto themselves. Accepting imperfection begins with a sense of universal appreciation for the self, earth, and everything in between.

I could ramble on and on right now... All I know is that I love him unconditionally. 10/26/07 is when he asked me to be his girlfriend. We were in the 11th grade. I was 16 and he was 17. Now here we are, almost 4 years later and I'm happier than ever. We've been through so much together as a couple and I'm so excited that I have many, many more years to come with him in my life. I know times will be hard, there's a deployment coming next year and I can't imagine being away from him for a year. I've been with him when he went to basic training and AIT. That's about 6 months apart and 1 year just doesn't even appeal to me in the least bit. But I know we can pull through. He's my absolute best friend in this world. (A big thanks to Cassie Stoll Photography. Love you girl!)

Your dog is the only one that will love you unconditionally and never lie to you......

Unconditional Surrender by Seward Johnson based on the famous post-WWII photo by Victor Jorgensen. I saw this statue originally when it was first installed in Times Square. I wasn't able to find information on this, but I know I have photos of it from back then--perhaps 2010.

It was a wonderful event for everyone with music, drinks and several hundred people and their beloved dogs.

“A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, big or small, young or old. He doesn't care if you're not smart, not popular, not a good joke-teller, not the best athlete, nor the best-looking person. To your dog, you are the greatest, the smartest, the nicest human being who was ever born. You are his friend and protector.”

The Fine People At Wikipeda have this to say about the original picture(s) this was based on.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%E2%80%93J_day_in_Times_Square

V–J day in Times Square, perhaps the most famous photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt, is of an American sailor kissing a young woman on V-J Day in Times Square on August 14, 1945, that was originally published in Life magazine. (The photograph is known under various names: V-J day in Times Square, V-Day, etc.[1])

Because Eisenstaedt was photographing rapidly changing events during the V-J celebrations he didn't get a chance to get names and details. The photograph does not clearly show the faces of either kisser and several people have laid claim to being the subjects. The photo was shot just south of 45th Street looking north from a location where Broadway and Seventh Avenue converge.

However it does seem this statute is based on another photo taken at the same time by a navy photographer. (from the same Wiki entry):

U.S. Navy photo journalist Victor Jorgensen captured another view of the same scene, which was published in the New York Times.[4] This photograph shows less of Times Square in the background and does not show the full body of either the sailor or the nurse. Unlike the Eisenstaedt photograph, this photograph is in the public domain (by virtue of being produced by a federal government employee on official position).
