en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%E2%80%93J_day_in_Times_Square
V–J day in Times Square, perhaps the most famous photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt, is of an American sailor kissing a young woman on V-J Day in Times Square on August 14, 1945, that was originally published in Life magazine. (The photograph is known under various names: V-J day in Times Square, V-Day, etc.[1])
Because Eisenstaedt was photographing rapidly changing events during the V-J celebrations he didn't get a chance to get names and details. The photograph does not clearly show the faces of either kisser and several people have laid claim to being the subjects. The photo was shot just south of 45th Street looking north from a location where Broadway and Seventh Avenue converge.

However it does seem this statute is based on another photo taken at the same time by a navy photographer. (from the same Wiki entry):
U.S. Navy photo journalist Victor Jorgensen captured another view of the same scene, which was published in the New York Times.[4] This photograph shows less of Times Square in the background and does not show the full body of either the sailor or the nurse. Unlike the Eisenstaedt photograph, this photograph is in the public domain (by virtue of being produced by a federal government employee on official position).
Ben loves trains. Today he got to see a train, touch a train, ride a train, and talk to a train. This is the only working steam engine in Montana. It really does say "Choo-choo" and "Woooo". Ben speaks train. Fluently.

This is probably my favorite person in the whole world. She is my aunt, Rosangela, most know as Negra or Negrinha. In fact, I think anyone ever called her by her real name. :)
She lives in my hometown, with my parents and my other aunt, Tere.
Negra have a mental disorder since she was born. In her head, she'll always be a child. She'll turn 50 next year, but she will forever be our little pure pure pure 12-year-old child. She was my best friend when I was little, we used to play A LOT, and dance listening to Clara Nunes (a brazilian singer). She's very tender and sweet, I love her hugs and kisses... I miss her so much, but soon will be my birthday and I'll visit her and the rest of the family. :)
She returns to give him the same flowers he gave to her. When he wakes up, he'll know that she was there and a smile will cross his face.

Not the best photo ever (my dog does not do "sitting still " very well unless she is asleep). Dark and rainy today so lighting was terrible. Also forgot to change my white balance. Not the most ideal of backgrounds. It was all going so well. But I just like it. These 2 babies have the biggest hearts and are the best of friends. That's why I chose it.

Chickie flix movie day....of these the one that left me laughing was "Unconditional Love".
Unconditional Surrender by Seward Johnson based on a famous post-WWII photo by Victor Jorgensen taken in Times Square. Copies of this work have also been called Embracing Peace which represent a double-entendre (I'm not sure if this was the intent, but it seems logical). I have seen copies of this work in San Diego (2016) and Omaha (2023).

MY LITANY......
Typical Women support gestation, give birth, nurture life and give sustenance. Most Mothers love unconditionally.Seeing the varieties of faceted beauty within their own children and also in other children and in human beings. They DONOT provoke WAR....Why in the HELL is this a Man's world, where penis size and Alpa Dog Aggressor are judged by the size of our weapons and the head count of how many lives we have taken at the end of the day. I never see Women declaring and starting wars. They may be part of the judgement, involved in direct action but literally speaking?? Do we see headlines:
"Women Delcare War On Lebanon and Israel? Attacking Full Force"? Or "Women WIll Kill As Many of Insurgents As Is Neccessary"....
Women GIVETH and Men TAKETH AWAY.Life..................
I keep asking Great Spirit why I am attracted to men more than women, physically?
It's answer is still the same. THAT IS WHY I HAVE BEEN CELIBATE FOR SO VERY LONG.....
