Ultrasound machine at a local hospital. Lots of different transducers, warmed lube and more. Impressive!
The installation detects where people are and how close they are using sonar. Like bats, these little black cylinders fire off a pulse of super high frequency sound and then time how long it takes to get the echo.
The closer people are, the faster the motors vibrate. The computer program running on the arduino detects if people are still, and then stops the vibrations and changes the slide.
They plug right into the arduino shield and I can read the distance out in centimeters! The sensors came from www.robot-electronics.co.uk/
So… the verdict is in and low and behold Kayla is going to have a little SISTER!... Oh no wait… that’s not right… BROTHER!!... Or was it sister?… oh crap! Now we will never know!
Ok… Ok… seriously it’s a little BOY! Really!... Are you wondering if I’m telling the truth?.. :o) Look at that evidence! He’s pointing at you!! And NOT with his finger! Hehehe
Got to the doctor’s office and the 5 mins. I had to wait for him to come in the room seemed like forever! I sat there thinking about boy vs. girl… who guessed what… who wanted what, then the Doc walked in. He said “hi!..” I said “DID THE BLOOD WORK COME BACK!?!” haha… not what I planned to come out of my mouth, but after that came out I realized I REALLY could care less if it was a boy or a girl… I just wanted to hear 100% healthy. He laughed and said yes it was NORMAL! Yay!! (half of a sigh)
He turned on the big screen (probably so I wouldn’t be trying to wiggle and see the little one.) He told me about his 100% track record of determining the gender and he’s been doing this for 20 years!! Well this little guy had NO problem showing off the goods! They just popped right up there. He didn’t need to say anything… I could already tell. But he did say “OH yea… I can tell you with 100% certainty… it’s a boy!” WOW WOW WOW!!! The little guy had no problem showing off the rest of himself for easy measurement either. First the head… PERFECT! Then the legs… PERFECT! And the arms… PERFECT! He hit all the measurements on the head and I fell in love! (big sigh of releif)
Dad called. (remind you its 4am over in Korea.) Come to find out he just stayed up… never went to bed. He didn’t want to over sleep. So I tell him and he starts YELLING “I’m having a boy!!” I try to shush him but I’m laughing way too hard! Haha While we were talking I sent out a teaser text to a few people who I KNEW were chomping at the bit to know! I have never got to many “threats” and called by my whole name in my life! Haha. Must say… I’m happy the closest person was a good 3 hour drive away. I think Nana and my sister were the funniest! I told dad he could call his mom and tell her, but before we got off the phone I had 3 texts! Haha… too freaking funny!...
So with all of votes in, looks like half of you were wrong, including me and Kayla. I vidoe taped Kayla's reaction... but it was NOTHING! She smiled, said she was happy and went on playing with her toy! hahaha kids...
This, as the title indicates, is the toilet at the Kalibo clinic where we went for the ultrasound.
I was 7 weeks and 5 days when I had this done. You can see the legs and arms and everything already. It blew my mind. I also heard the heartbeat for the first time and almost cried. Thank god there is only one of those little buggers in there, but I can't wait to meet him/her. Next ultrasound is June 30th! I can't wait!

As announced before we're expecting a new baby for the beginning of August.
This 3D ( 4D since it was real time ) scan was taken at the end of march, pleased to say everything is going well, another 2 months to go.

The baby's forearm and hand were visible in this ultrasound. Her arms were crossed and I think you can barely make out her other arm behind the forearm.

I had an ultrasound done early to see why I was cramping and spotting. Turns out I have a corpeus luteum cyst on my ovary, but the doctor is not concerned, and said it will not affect my pregnancy :) I saw the baby's heartbeat that morning, and of course cried! It was amazing!
