One of the elite members of the Japanese Superhero pantheon and although he has been around for a very long time and looks kind of old fashioned in the way tomorrow land at Disneyland should really be called 'The 70's idea of Tomorrow' land, he is still a highly respected character.
My only gripe with him is that his Achilles heel has never really been capitalized on the way it could be. Basically he is small and not so strong and then pushes the big button on his chest and becomes a giant but only for 3 minutes and then after a warning light flashes for a while he goes back to his regular size, predictably thwarting the bad guys in a nick of time. Now the problem here is that the enemies are so dumb that they don't think to pick a fight with him until he pushes his button, run away and wait till his 3 minutes are up and then attack. Maybe this has been tried (I can't say my knowledge of Ultraman adventures is encyclopedic) but either way, he's still kicking around. This large statue can be found in front of Tokyo Dome.

Shin Ultraman on the Bandai building - right is a resturant that serves "dojo" a small river eel (aka Weather Loach or Pond Loach). The film was scanned at low-res so this has potential to look better.
