Tiesto - Ultra Music Festival 2011
TGIF!!! Here's one of Tiesto from the Ultra Music Festival 2011 series. I thought this was a pretty cool backstage perspective because it shows off the DJ in action but gives a great sense of atmosphere with the crowd.

The third version of the cult 90s trash cam, the RETO Ultra Wide & Slim is a surprisingly fun camera to use. Sure, it feels cheap and almost like it's going to fall apart as soon as you start using it, but it's fun to use. And the lens produces fairly sharp images in the center with plenty of nice fall-off and vinetting at the edges.

First Glasgow's only remaining* Wright Axcess Ultralow-bodied Scania L113CRL 61478 is seen on Rutherglen's Main St at rest between training duties.
Despite the influx of ex-First Scotland East/Midland Bluebird Solar-bodied L94UB trainers in the past year or so (which enabled the last 3 ex-South Yorkshire PS/B10M-55 trainers to finally be withdrawn), the old order of Axcess Floline trainers (& 478) are still hanging on; with only major failures likely to see them off for good now. Considering how utterly bomb-proof they generally are, that won't be happening for quite a while yet...
*: Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the only L113 still in use anywhere within First UK Bus & surely a prime candidate for preservation once it's time comes...

There were two projects to extend the life of the class 73s running at the same time, the 73 "Ultra" programme rebuilt by Rail Vehicle Engineering at Derby with Cummins engines and a Programme by Brush Traction at Loughborough to rebuild with MTU engines. As most of you will know the Brush rebuild won with GBRF getting 11 examples (6 for the Caledonian sleeper and 5 for infrastructure services in the South East)
The engines pictured here 73 951 & 952 were the result of the RVEL rebuild which ran overtime and budget and I am therefore guessing why no more 73s were put through the programme. With so much money put into these two machines and again with a bit of guesswork I would suggest that Network Rail want to get something back from their investment and get some use out of them but seeing as there are only two examples, spare parts and running them may give them a short life. This leads into why they are pictured in "third rail land" at Newtown Sidings Ashford where they had spent a few days being tested under third rail conditions around Kent before spending a couple of weeks berthed here while a plan was hatched as to how to get them back to Derby. It was decided to stick them of the front of a Dollands Moor test train to Derby with the original hauling engines a pair of GBRF 73/9s placed on the rear of the train. 73 951 and 952 are seen about to depart on 0Z73 1130 Ashford Newtown Sidings to Dollands Moor light engine move.
P106 MFS (61478) is the sole L113CRL remaining in the First Glasgow fleet, still soldering on as a trainer long after all it's sister buses have been withdrawn. With the surplus L94UBs readily available in their droves, this will undoubtedly remain a one-off conversion.
61478 is seen just after leaving B.B.S whilst on training duties.

An ultra modern house made of wood, which is very unusual for here. It looks sadly out of place with the older styled houses around it and might well be holiday flats, by the number of cars parked outside, but I'm not sure.
PS: Might not be holiday apartments as the cars all have local number plates, or those that I can see.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
New Blok City's guardians formed when Baron Von Ogel invaded the city in his quest for world domination. Four of New Blok's super powered citizens stepped forward to fight him. Led by the brilliant Lazer Hawk, he was joined by powerful Liberty, the armored Patriot X, and amazing Dynamo. These four would form the team known as Ultra Force upon the defeat on Baron Von Ogel. They banded together protect New Blok and it's citizens from any further attacks of Baron Von Ogel and his forces and also to deal with the threat of super powered criminals within the city. The four of them would combat new challenges and in order to adapt, they took on new members. The fiery Volcano Girl and speedy Kid Komet were added to the group when the behemoth Aragoto went on a rampage and injured Dynamo and Patriot X. A while later, they accepted astonishing Micro Man into their group. The uncanny Shimmer joined after they rescued her from the evil plans on Dr. Krayniac. Ultra Force now finds itself dealing with matters much bigger than stopping bank robberies or muggings. They deal with larger scale threats like Baron Von Ogel's eminent return and being hassled by government regulations. Ultra Force exemplifies the virtues of heroism and gives the citizens a sense of hope.

I thought I'd show off some of New Blok City's factions and groups. Enjoy.!

I used my phone to grab this wider (ultra-wide) view of the smoke. Those aren't clouds, this is all smoke, and it is making the air quality bad again, if not worse. I hope that if this is a controlled burn that it does the trick. But as long as we continue to have 100 degree temperatures and 27% humidity, we could be in for more of this.
