Celebrating Happiness by Little Happy Feet - Annual Day Function of Class 2 and 4

The annual day function of primary classes - 2&4 infused this morning with so much joy and enthusiasm as the little Udgamites celebrated happiness. India’s rich cultural heritage and diversity were displayed through various dance forms that included regional folk dances as well as western and fusion dance . Grade 4 Students performed Ashta Lakshmi Devistuti, Bhoomi Managlam, Garba, Kolattam etc that earned huge round of applause from the audience. Students of grade 2 filled our hearts with immense joy through the traditional dance performances such as Punjabi, Bengali, Goan, Malhar,Kavadiattam and more. The event commenced with the customary lighting of the lamp by our respected directors, followed by a welcome speech by our Principal, Ms. Tandon. Today’s little happy feet successfully spread the cheer and highlighted the happiness that prevails within our country.

Udgam School for Children conducted a virtual tour at Roundhouse Aquarium, USA, for Class V on Saturday, October 10. Roundhouse Instructors, Mr.Juan Lopez & Ms. Brittney Olaes, gave a brief overview of the importance of aquatic plants and marine mammals in our life, also shared some interesting facts about octopus, sea horses & sea jellies. They further explained the ocean ecosystem and animal habitats. The Executive Director of Roundhouse, Ms. Grace Adams, was also present during the live trip. More than 300 attended students attended the virtual event. They were thrilled to see Leopard Shark, Wolf Eel, Octopus, Sea Horses, Sea Jellies, Sheephead Fish, Star Fish, Moral Eels, and many more creatures of the sea. All the students enthusiastically attended the virtual trip and curiously asked many questions to the instructors yet gaining a lot of knowledge about aquatic life.

We are glad to state that two of our students, Tathya Bhadresh Prajapati from VI-H and Palash Axay Shah from VI-A, have achieved honors in different arenas. Tathya wrote a poem for her little sister, which got selected and published in the book. Also, she received a Consolation Prize in ‘Indian Classical Dance and Music Online Contest 2020’, for Bharatanatyam. Palash became Second Runner-up in Drawing online competition.
