I just recently re-vamped my laptop to be a dual boot system between Ubuntu and Windows XP Pro. There's a lot of eye candy with ubuntu that I'm having a lot of fun playing around with... Its an interesting operating system that I've really only begun to scratch the surface of. I think it will be interesting to see what the programs are like as I get more and more into it.
Gimp is the free open source photo editing software and seems like a pretty decent program. Not a replacement for Photoshop, but certainly shares some similar features and is capable of RAW editing.

I finally installed wine and was able to play StarCraft Broodwars.

I have always moved my taskbar to the top of the screen because that's where all of the window menus are conveniently located. I love how the developers of Ubuntu thought of details like that.
