I find it fascinating how there are so many food delivery service bikes crisscrossing the city on a Saturday night. Maybe I just too tight, but I can't imagine ordering a coffee to be delivered to my house at 11pm on a Saturday night - or anytime for that matter.
They do add to the hustle and bustle of city life.
Street photography isn't something I've really tried before. It looks easy, but I admire those who do it well. My new 85mm f/1.8 makes it a lot of fun though.

Je ne suis à titre personnel pas un adepte de Uber Eats.
Si j'ai certes la conviction que cette entreprise, comme semblent le juger de plus en plus d'Etats à travers le monde démocratique, use et abuse de ce qu'en France est appelé "l'auto-entreprise" pour ne pas payer de cotisations sociales, je dois cependant avouer que même les convictions viennent de quelque part : c'est d'autant plus facile de se hisser comme fervent défenseur des travailleurs quand on n'a pas la souplesse intellectuelle pour s'essayer à ces nouveaux modes d'exploita...euh... de services de restauration rapide. :-))

中年ながら孤高に生きる姿にバックに貼られたピンナップガールも戦闘機のノーズアートに見えてしまう。
Today I tried to upload the people I found in the city that I was very interested in.
First of all, the person who is doing Uber Eats in Shinjuku.
Although he is middle-aged, he lives noble and lonely. So the pin-up girl photo on his rucksack looks like a fighter's nose art.
Amsteldok is a large office building on Amsteldijk and Trompenburgstraat in the Suth of Amsterdam. It was designed by the Rotterdam based architect Huig Aart Maaskant. Until 2019 the building was called Rivierstaete.
Rivierstaete was built between 1967 and 1973 and used to be the largest office building in Europe at a cost of 40,000,000 guilders. A metal sculpture by André Volten was placed in the Trompenburgstraat in 1972 during the construction period. The building had eight floors in staggered layers. The outside walls were covered with white tiles, making the building stand out among red brick residential buildings. 'The Monkey Rock' soon became the nickname of the Riverstaete buidling.
Several companies were located in the building. The Spyker automobile factory was built here at the beginning of the 20th century, after which the Nestelroy Trompenburg paper factory settled here, which was liquidated in 1968. The consulates of Peru and the Republic of Ivory Coast and the IT departments of the University of Amsterdam and the Hogeschool van Amsterdam were also located in the building. Currently WWP, Ogilvy and UberEats are located in the Amsteldok.

I've seen this object, or another one like it, in Glendale not long ago. It was further up another street and was going in the opposite direction, so I could not whip out my smartphone in time to get a photo of it. I've seen one patrolling Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood a year and a half ago. I still have no idea what they are, or what purpose they serve.
I was out for a walk just before sunset, and I saw this object further up the street, the two circles lit up, as if they were eyes or perhaps headlights. I was headed back and saw it ahead of me, standing to one side of the drive way to Karina's Cake House. It was still, no sound, nor were the two circles lit up (as you can see here). I got on the other side of the driveway, took out my smartphone, and got this photo of it. I have no idea if it was taking a photo of me.
R2D2? WALL-E? Robocop's Mini-Me? I wonder if anyone has attempted to vandalize one of these things?
Of course, I only had to look closer and see it says "Uber Eats" at the top of it. So, food is delivered in these things? I take it they don't get a tip, and I'm sure the order is pre-paid, otherwise this little thing will be on street corners with a tin cup.

There are three Duckworths' locations, and I'm not 100% they are all the same owner/family, but this one is from Kingston Road, and it has an ubereat's menu today you can order from, meaning it made it through the pandemic. I never ate here but I'm a sucker for great retro neon goodness.

Covid-19 has also caused people to order more meals and have them delivered at home. A company like UberEats is a big winner among the restaurants that are struggling.

Je dois préciser avant toute chose que, malgré mon appétit pour les kebabs préparés dans cette enseigne, ma kébabémie est nulle. Mais JAMAIS je n'utiliserai ÜberEats pour un kebab ! Jamais ! *lève son petit poing en l'air*
En tout cas, devant l'Istanbul Kebab, la file d'attente commence à déborder sur le palier.
Et... visiblement...
Un travailleur übérisé est en pleine prise de commande (non, je ne crois pas qu'il s'agisse du personnage au portable) à l'intérieur.
Pour autant les lumières électriques du magasin apportent quelque chose d'enchanteur à un quotidien nocturne presque banal... En tout cas banalisé !
