On a whim, I thought to try my UWA lens (14mm). At f/2.8 I got all of the mushroom detail, 1 image, no stacking. Now, I don't have the creative blur that a much longer focal length would allow but in a pinch, not bad.

University of Western Australia (UWA) is a public research university in the Australian state of Western Australia. The university's main campus is in Crawley, a suburb in the City of Perth local government area. UWA was established in 1911 by an act of the Parliament of Western Australia.
UWA is the oldest university in Western Australia (WA) and the sixth-oldest in Australia. It is classed as one of the "sandstone universities", an informal designation given to the oldest university in each state.
UWA is a member of the Group of Eight, which consists of the eight most research-intensive and best-ranked Australian universities. UWA is also a member of the international Matariki Network of Universities.
UWA is ranked in the world's top 200 universities, according to several highly respected publications. Another defining characteristic of UWA is that it has retained its convocation as an integral part of its governance structure. All UWA graduates are automatically lifelong members of the university through convocation, which grants them the right to attend annual general meetings, elect two members of the university senate, and review any changes to university legislation.
UWA graduates include Prime Minister of Australia Bob Hawke, five justices of the High Court of Australia (including Chief Justice Robert French, now Chancellor), Governor of the Reserve Bank H. C. Coombs, various federal cabinet ministers, and seven of Western Australia's eight most recent premiers. In 2018 alumnus Akshay Venkatesh received the Fields Medal. As of 2021, the university had produced 106 Rhodes Scholars. Two members of the UWA faculty, Barry Marshall and Robin Warren, won Nobel Prizes as a result of research at the university.
Learning a new ‚camera’. What is the most fun so far? The ultra wide angle lens. I haven’t tried that wide yet and it will be a great testing environment in case I would like to try such lens on dedicated camera.

This photo was taken in the grounds of the University of Western Australia. I didn't actually notice the bird fly into the frame until i transferred the photo's onto the computer but am definitely happy with the result :)

I've seen the the Bahai Temple in pictures but have actually never been there. I was was just driving around the North Shore looking for beaches when I saw it. Had to turn around to snap some pictures. Beautiful house of worship. The security guard actually offered to sneak me upstairs to be able to see the surrounding areas and maybe take pictures inside but I politely declined as there were a few people inside praying. From 3 exposures.

As much as I complain about the BAH, in reviewing my image library, it sure has become a prime photo subject for me, and I honestly don't think I would get more or better shots of Grauman's if the BAH were to leave.
That said, photography isn't everything, and I am ready for this damned hat to take its bow. Donald, perhaps you can work your PhilharMAGIC and make it disappear (but make sure Mickey doesn't bring it back!).
