Technically a cat picture, our big boy had some shaved patches due to some recent veterinary visits, and this is a sort of cross-section of textures from the shortest shaved bits in the top left, through the undercoat, to the top layer hairs on the bottom right.

Subject: Andeer is a little, lovely Swiss town next to the Rhine—actually, in this stretch the river is called Hinterrhein [Back Rhine or Rear Rhine]—and it is renowned for its thermal springs.
