A pair of Chinese guardian lions gifted to the city by Ningbo, Nottingham's sister city in China, to mark a decade of civic partnership between the two cities.
The lions are located on the University of Nottingham’s Highfields Park campus.
Every time I photograph the lighting is different giving me some completely different colours. Purples of all shades and blues of ebery shade. Never get enough of this beauty.

Koning Lodewijk Napoleon koos in 1807 Utrecht als zijn residentie. Voor zijn paleis kocht hij een aantal panden, o.a. aan de Drift, en liet de "'grande galerie" en hofkapel nieuw bouwen. Onder leiding van J.D. Zocher sr. was zijn paleis snel gereed, hij woonde er echter maar een paar maanden. De balzaal werd in 1817 verbouwd tot bibiliotheek voor de universiteit. Vanaf 1960 was de grande galerie alleen nog maar in gebruik als boekenopslag. Met de recente verbouwing zijin de galerie en de voormalige kapel weer onderdeel van de bibliotheek.

We stopped here briefly for a look around early in our visit to Dunedin

On Weserstraße with its numerous shops, the magnificent gable of house number 11 catches the eye. The university commissions have been located here since the 17th century.
It served as an inn and student residence for the "Academia Ernestina".

The University of Wrocław is a public research university located in Wrocław, Poland. Founded in 1702, it is one of the oldest collegiate-level institutions of higher education in Central Europe with around 30,000 students (2012). Throughout its history, it remained a great learning center of a German-speaking countries until territorial changes of Germany after World War II. Following the territorial changes of Poland after World War II academics primarily from Jan Kazimierz University of Lwów restored the university building heavily damaged and split as a result of the Siege of Breslau (1945). The first lectures were conducted in the halls with broken windows.
The University is currently the largest in Lower Silesia with over 100,000 graduates since 1945 including some 1,900 researchers among whom many received the highest awards for their contribution to the development of scientific scholarship
This attractive set of buildings forms part of the campus of Greenwich University which is located next to the Thames.
Warsaw University Library roof garden, covering an area of over 1 ha, is one of the largest roof gardens in Europe. The garden is divided into two parts: the upper and the lower part, which are joined by a cascading stream.
The lower part includes amongst others a fish pond, where ducks have taken residence, as well as a series of granite sculptures on cosmological themes. The upper garden comprises of four parts: the golden part (to the north), the silver part (to the east), the crimson part (to the south) and the green part (to the west). Each one features different vegetation whose colors reflect their names.
Individual sections of the garden are connected by paths, bridges and pergolas. The rooftop is also an ideal viewing point of Warsaw’s panorama as well as the library interiors.

University Avenue is a grand north-south thoroughfare in downtown Toronto, designed as a wide, ceremonial boulevard that serves as the city's main civic and medical axis.
Civic Design: It is known for its wide central median and formal layout, intended to emulate state and civic avenues in other great cities. It is lined with statues, monuments, and flags.
Institutional Corridor: The avenue runs from Front Street, through the city's financial core, up to Queen's Park. Along its route, it hosts:
Finance: The Financial District (at the south end).
Medicine: Many of Toronto's major research and teaching hospitals (the "medical corridor").
Education/Government: The University of Toronto (near the north end) and the Ontario Legislature (at Queen's Park).
Key Landmarks: It includes the Campbell House (a historic landmark), the courts, and the Osgoode Hall building. The avenue transitions into Queen's Park Crescent at the north end, circling the Parliament building.

This image is from the Princeton University campus in Princeton, New Jersey. The architects certainly went arch-happy in their construction! There must literally be dozens of arches on that campus, incorporated into a wide variety of structures.
AVR's Job 1 rolls straight through the campus of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, named after the steel giant himself Andrew Carnegie. After a rendezvous with the NS at Island Avenue, the Allegheny Valley Railroad has three of their SD45 carbodies leading a large cut for Glenwood Yard.
The University of Vilnius was founded in 1579 by King of Poland Stefan Batory. Its first rector was a prominent Polish Jesuit Piotr Skarga. Its architecture represents all major styles including Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Classicism.
