I thought this was a different perspective of the capital building. I was waiting for the green light to cross to the other side of a busy street. This is looking down Pennsylvania Avenue.
Clear demarcations and clear distinctions are something that gives us security because order creates orientation. In many areas of life this is absolutely necessary in order to be able to deal with the huge amount of information without losing your mind.
However, here, as everywhere, there is a dark side of the force. If we draw the limits too rigorously, we take away many opportunities for personal unfolding and development. In addition, we are much easier to manipulate and thus to be controled.
Sometimes the true miracle and the greatest opportunity lies in the actually unthinkable. As in this union between a birch and a spruce. Because even if they are fundamentally different and their crowns are a long way apart, they are still firmly connected to their roots.
So my dear friends, always keep an open mind!

Manchmal steckt im eigentlich Undenkbaren das wahre Wunder und die größte Chance. Wie in dieser Vereinigung zwischen einer Birke und einer Fichte. Denn auch wenn sie Grund verschieden und ihre Kronen einen ganzes Stück von einander entfernt sind, so sind sie Ihren Wurzeln doch fest miteinander verbunden.

Building was the original Tulsa Fire Alarm Company. The Art Deco building was built in the 1931. It was The Tulsa Fire Departments 1930 version of todays 911 call centers

In reviewing L'Enfant's plan, Thomas Jefferson insisted the legislative building be called the "Capitol" rather than "Congress House". The word "Capitol" comes from Latin and is associated with the Roman temple to Jupiter Optimus Maximus on Capitoline Hill.[8] In addition to coming up with a city plan, L'Enfant had been tasked with designing the Capitol and President's House, however he was dismissed in February 1792 over disagreements with President George Washington and the commissioners, and there were no plans at that point for the Capitol.
Like the principal buildings of the executive and judicial branches, the Capitol is built in a distinctive neoclassical style and has a white exterior. Though both its east and west elevations are formally referred to as fronts, only the east front was intended for the reception of visitors and dignitaries.

Could you find a more perfect juxtaposition on a nature walk than a slow moving snapping turtle and a rapidly flowing waterfall? The little fella even stayed still long enough for me to take a half-second exposure!
