an exchange between you and the landscape, in which - however unlikely this may seem - there is a dialogue between the two of you. It is simply courtesy to allow the landscape to speak :-)

Regular visitor to the manger from the bad season, he particularly likes broken peanuts, hazelnuts and walnuts, his pretty colorful plumage and his unique song very often betray his presence in the sector even before his arrival. image taken from the lookout tent and in a natural environment.
PS: any request to share with a group will be rejected immediately, I do not want any publicity on my work (I am largely past the age of receiving Oscars, Good Points and other such nonsense ... ) , thank you for your understanding .
I thought these pincushions looked rather pretty in black and white. They are white anyway. Thank you to all my Flickr friends for your continued support!!

A bit of a booby Martin 2020, strangely he does not come to fish from my perches but stands high in the trees before pouncing on his future victims, so it's very complicated this season to have some correct images, luckily I have made up my mind a good record in previous years where I can draw at will, but that doesn't prevent me from having liked him to be a little more cooperative, the season is progressing and I only have poor results for a very significant number of hours spent confined in the small space of my hide tent.
Image taken from the hide tent and in a natural environment.
PS: A big thank you to everyone who chooses to watch, comment and love my photos. It is very appreciated, as you noticed, I do not answer any more directly following your comment just to say in fact "thank you and good day", but in return I pass to leave a small mark with you on one or more of your editions. thank you for your understanding

My understanding is the Carolina praying mantis and Arizona praying mantis are the only native North American mantis species. The other fifteen species are introduced. This mantis was found inside my house. I captured him and held him for a few minutes then placed him on Russia Salvia for a photo. As you can see, he's preening himself, something only a relaxed mantis will do. Of course, he was released unharmed.

A PRAYER TO DEFEAT THE WORK OF SATAN
O Divine Eternal Father, in union with your Divine Son and the Holy Spirit, and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg You to destroy the Power of your greatest enemy – the evil spirits. Cast them into the deepest recesses of hell and chain them there forever!
Take possession of your Kingdom which You have created and which is rightfully yours. Heavenly Father, give us the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I repeat this prayer out of pure love for You with every beat of my heart and with every breath I take.
Amen.
On this way good luck and all the best dear friends in Ukraine from dl1ydn 73

The alpha and the omega. Physicists have been working to develop the "holy grail" therory that mathematically explains the behavior of the universe from the very small - quantum level particles, to the massively large - galaxies, black holes and dark matter. String theory has moved the thinking beyond just the newtonian (large) and quantum (small) prior successes but there are still large gaps in their understanding and mathematical underpinnings have been elusive. Submittal for the October 19, 2020 Macro Monday’s theme of “String”.
Our capacity to draw happiness from aesthetic objects or material goods in fact seems critically dependent on our first satisfying a more important range of emotional or psychological needs, among them the need for understanding, for love, expression and respect

‘A conversation affirms man’s faith in his own experience. For creative understanding it is immensely important for the person to be located outside the object of his or her understanding.’

Beauty, compassion, understanding and love are my weapons of choice in this World Anti-war I. I feel that they are very powerful. And on the both sides of this war (of course you know that there, in Russia, at the other side of the war, a lot of people are fighting against war, as they could) my heart is with peaceful people. Even at the battlefields Ukrainians are fighting to banish and to take down the war.
They hate the war. They are fighting for peace. And so am I.

As I walk through this wicked world
Searchin′ for light in the darkness of insanity
I ask myself, is all hope lost?
Is there only pain and hatred and misery?
And each time I feel like this inside
There's one thing I wanna know
What′s so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding? Oh
What's so funny ′bout peace love and understanding?
And as I walked on
Through troubled times
My spirit gets so downhearted sometimes
So where are the strong
And who are the trusted?
And where is the harmony?
Sweet harmony
′Cause each time I feel it slippin' away, just makes me wanna cry
What′s so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding? Oh
What′s so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?
So where are the strong?
And who are the trusted?
And where is the harmony?
Sweet harmony
′Cause each time I feel it slippin' away, just makes me wanna cry
What's so funny ′bout peace, love and understanding? Oh
What′s so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding? Oh
What′s so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?

Understanding my roll.
When our first grandchild was born, my son’s family was stationed at NAS Pax River Maryland. We made the drive from Indiana to Maryland as often as possible and they the reverse. August was a beautiful baby boy who looked and acted like every other baby…like a little humanoid who had lots of intake and the smelliest of outgo. When it comes to babies…until they are old enough and can be responsible for their own head and neck, well let’s just say that holding one makes me as nervous as being wrapped up like a mummy utilizing live Boa constrictors! Scratch that as it is an exaggeration…I would prefer the boa’s!
I do not remember his exact age but I would guess it was around a year and a half old and they were in town for a visit. It was a beautiful spring/summer day and August and I were walking around the front yard, just exploring and enjoying time together. As we walked hand in hand, we came upon a bush. I have no idea what type of bush it was, even though it was part of our landscaping. It was both yellow and green, the type that looked a bit sharp but wasn’t.
We stopped and were looking at the bush when August without a word spoken looked up into my eyes. Instantly I knew his question and I said “You can touch it.” He gently reached out and started feeling the texture of a single branch, and smiled. It was at that exact moment, as if hit by lightning, that I felt like a grandfather for the first time…accepting responsibility for one of my roles in his life, to assist with discovery.
Fast forward seven years and I am at Custer SP photographing bison when I notice this little one. Its nose was inches from the ground and a few feet away from a lone blue flower. It moved from side to side, eyed fixed on the flower as if it was wondering what it was…a bit curious, a bit hesitant. A few seconds passed before it worked up the courage to approach the flower. When it bowed down to ascertain its fragrance, I took this photo.
Watching this bison reminded me of the thrill, the absolute blessing of discovery…making this shot a personal favorite from this trip!

Anselm classically defined theology as fides quaerens intellectum—“ faith seeking understanding.” Not faith that already understands and so no longer needs to seek. That would by definition no longer be theology. Theology is not itself the faith but its quest. If we stop seeking, we are no longer on the way. Faith seeking understanding has then turned into “belief that understands.” It then closes down the very root of quaerens, from which come both question and quest. Speaking the divine wisdom in a mystery, theology remains a work of human speech. Theology is not the same as faith or belief, but a disciplined and relational reflection upon them. God calls, but we are responsible for what we call “God.” And God may be calling us to that very responsibility!
-On the Mystery, DISCERNING DIVINITY IN PROCESS, Catherine Keller
