These rocks have been smashed by waves like this ever since Bass Strait was flooded at the end of the last Ice Age 12,000 years ago. And we worry about miniscule rates of sea level change and tiny increases in temperature.

I have like Queen and David Bowie since my University days in the dim and distant past so when they collaborated on this song, which for me has been a great Lockdown song, in 1981, it was a rare treat!
In the summer past, I could drive along and sing along with Freddie Mercury and all the great Queen songs, releasing some of the pressure induced by the constant state of tension induced by the virus.
My lockdown songs are all the Queen and Bowie numbers but this one is special!

One of the best collaborations ever Bowie & Queen Under Ptressure Live Aid 1985. What a day that was!
Ze kruisen elkaars vlucht regelmatig. Waarom? Ik vermoed dat door de turbulentie veroorzaakt door de snelle lucht, de insecten in de vluchtbaan gezogen worden owv overdruk en onderdruk. In de turbulentie van de vluchtbanen ontstaan er concentraties van insecten die verward zijn. Gemakkelijke prooien dus. Misschien is dit onzin….misschien iets voor de ingenieurs onder ons?
They regularly cross each other's flight. Why? I suspect that due to the turbulence caused by the fast air, the insects are sucked into the flight path due to overpressure and underpressure. Concentrations of confused insects are created in the turbulence of the flight paths. So easy prey. Maybe this is nonsense….maybe something for the engineers among us?

Not much information about Hly (his Instagram account just disappeared), but he often makes portraits of characters from Mythology like this Medusa head. Splendid!

UNDER PRESSURE FESTIVAL
Founded in Montreal in 1996 by graffiti writers Seaz and Flow, Under Pressure is the oldest urban culture festival still active today. Its mandate is to support community and urban culture, contributing to the development and radiance of graffiti and all elements of hip hop on a local and international scale.
Managed by a team of volunteers devoted to Hip Hop culture, Under Pressure is committed to recreating the vibe of New York City block parties from the 70s. The organizers, graffiti writers, street artists, DJs, emcees and street dancers do it for the love and dedication to the roots of the culture and continue to work to support and maintain the community through their participation in the festival and all other activities and events connected to the Under Pressure family.

After a while I see the signal for the inbound line from Lynemouth go so move into position by the flat crossing of the Butterwell line. eventually 08512, which had gone out that way grumbles past with a heavy load of coal carried in the old internal wagons, tipped at the end by a guards van, for this archaic train has no braking beyond the loco.
I cannot think of where it was destined, because I cannot remember. I may not have looked. I know I had checked out the vantage point from the new bypass bridge behind the loco. And I remember that I cycled to the south end of Ashington for the spectacular iron viaduct that spanned the Wansbeck. I remember that whilst I waited there nothing came so I cycled onwards to Cambois. And I remember that the tune playing in my head was Under Pressure by David Bowie and Queen. And I never have even seen that video until just now.

Macro Mondays theme: Lockdown Song
My recording of the David Bowie/Queen classic Under Pressure got a lot of play even before the lockdown but it seems to have double significance now, especially since we had to move a household of 17 years during the last few months.
The picture is of a sixth scale book in a clamp under pressure to glue the pages together. Staged for the photo as I haven't had a spare moment to work on my hobbies while we continue to put the house in order. As it happens the title of this book I was lucky enough to find in my stuff is Not Dead Yet. And we are. Not dead yet.
