The task was to create a new skin for Thunderbird. The theme had to harmonize with a system theme that was to be used by America On Line for a personal PC OS. I designed the theme, created a new set of icons (including the animated throbber, *.ico files and smileys), and modified the jar file css to make it all work. This is a composite from screen grabs of the actual working application skin.

So on Tues. I gave a presentation entitled "User Interface is King, Developing a Web App UI." It was an interesting experience. I've definitely learned some lessons about prepping for a talk. Right after the talk I swore I would never give another talk like that again. On reflection I think I should qualify it with "if I'm that unprepared." All of my issues cropped up because I wasn't properly prepared and I feel bad for those folks who came to the talk. Ah, well. Can't change it but at least I can learn from it.
By the way, it's not like I went down in flames or anything but it just wasn't up to my own standards.
