NS 316 waits patiently behind a broken in half 310 in Euclid, Ohio at UD. This edition of 316 had a teardrop window SD75i CN doing the honors. After hearing that they were stopped just 200 feet from the crossing of London Road, I knew that I had to get in the car and shoot, regardless of the 20 degree freezing rain that was falling. Not only were they stuck behind 310 which had 3 CN units, they had to wait on 23K which also had a pair of CN’s. Seven CN units on NS?

IAIS 513 with SIBI hits the BNSF/UP diamonds at Joliet.

IAIS SIBI takes its window at UD behind one of the only PTC-equipped GP38-2s leading. UD Tower, on the right, was opened in 1913, a year after Joliet Union Station was completed. At one point, there were sixteen diamonds at UD Tower with four Rock Island tracks crossing the double-track Santa Fe and Alton mainlines.

IAIS SIBI crosses the ex-Santa Fe and Alton mainlines at UD Tower as it begins its eastbound trip into Metra territory behind a GP38-2 and the 30th Anniversary GEVO.
