My toughest photograph so far. It's a sculpture my mom made, she needed a picture for an advertisment poster. It took us 3 hours to shoot, another hour of post-processing. I must say I'm pretty happy with the result, but I'm very interested in hearing your feedback :) .

Strobist info: SB-600 at 35mm, 1/1 firing in the umbrella. There was a black not-so-seamless background between the sculpture and the window (not pictured), and an SB-25 on 35mm, 1/16, on camera left, fired at close range towards the improvised reflector. Triggered by cacti v4.

For concerned animal lovers out there-- Crested Myna are extirpated in Canada but the internet tells me they're still all over the place in China, so I'm okay with having the only one/two in the country. :D I also have faith that whomever created this delightful work of art followed the ethics of taxidermists everywhere-- these birds most likely died of natural causes, but live on forever in this form.
