Calmly taking in the rugged scenery. Mountain goats love rock mountains, this place must seem like they have arrived in heaven to the herd.
Two sisters.
Molly and Ethel Everson lived and breathed their lives on the River Deben at Woodbridge where they toiled alongside their brothers Cyril and Bert.
It was truly a family affair as they had inherited the boatyard in 1969 with the passing of their father so it was inevitable that they would retain the boatyard in the family name.
Whilst the memory of Cyril and Bert can be seen on the boats that they crafted as many are still sailing the waters of the River Deben today and these craft are a testimony to these highly skilled boat builders.
Molly and Ethel managed the administrative side of the business which included the chandlery, sail store and office and by all accounts they were tough but hard working women.
Andrew Bolton was commissioned by the Woodbridge Boat Yard to create a sculpture dedicated to the two women and in November 2020 the sculpture was fittingly positioned appropriately in the River Deben a place that the Everson’s knew and loved.

This changing tree, behind our local library, caught my eye today. I assume the rhe color change has to do with the strong afternoon sun on its west-facing side.
With two tone horns blasting out her arrival at the level crossing at Athelney 66569 crosses the River Tone with the 1203 from Westbury to Fairwater Yard in Taunton.
The small community that lives alongside the River are constantly under threat of flooding. The low lying basin known as Sedgemore is regarded locally as a vulnerable area. The River can be seen here close to bursting her banks and with more rain forecast this weekend things are not looking good.

I keep forgetting to post stuff at the moment! Will try and catch up on a few in the next while. Here's one from a fabulous misty morning in Tuscany back in May, the first of two successive stunning mornings we got.
I didn't even notice these guys up in the tree over my head until my friend, Jim pointed them out. They seemed to be enjoying the sunshine.
Reed Canal Park is very large. On one side, there is a lake, with a bridge that goes over it on the south side, and on the other side of the park is a woodsy area that has a playground, walking trails, and loads of trees. That is the squirrels' domain, and they wait patiently for people to bring them treats like peanuts! They are pretty fearless, coming right up to you for handouts, but quickly running away if you don't have any. This tree is right on the border between the woods and the open lake area, and is a very pretty spot in the afternoon when the sun is setting, although the light can be a real challenge because it's pretty blazing.
Little Canadian goslings. They're not very water proof yet. The down takes a lot of cleaning after being in the water.

Found these two sitting in the Great Falls yard this evening. I've shot and posted pics of 12066 before, but this was the first time I've seen the other one.
This shot gets me to thinking, what does one call multiple cars of this sort? Caboosi? Cabeese?
