As the setting sun moves further south along the western horizon, it becomes harder to photograph from my studio window.
In researching Delia Derbyshire for my presentation on an electronic music artist last semester I read an article about Tristram Cary. Cary, another pioneer of electronic music, composed the score for the second Doctor Who serial in 1963—his credit, above right—which I watched this weekend. The article mentioned his father, the novelist Joyce Cary, and I dove into his first book, the first of a trilogy, Herself Surprised. His second book, To Be a Pilgrim—above left—is part of my summer reading list.
I have issue 5 (with a different cover and dust jacket) from when it was new. I tracked down a copy of issue 4 in decent condition a few years back. But only have the reprints of issues 2 and 3.
