This is how it looked the day Real Madrid got kicked out from Champions League by AC Roma, playing at Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu Stadium... so, it means the same day the Champions League came to an end for me this year.

Fewer reasons to be stressed =)

Having a chat today with a friend who's always laughing at [what else?] you =)

You wouldn't believe it if I tell you we were actually talking about some politics stuff and Carl Jung's approach to psychology at the moment this was taken...

Weird.

Project 365

Ok, ok, ok... I know it... I know it.

This might not look like a proper 'photograph', but it is indeed a picture of my own caricature which Mr. Jed Pascoe has given to me whilst partying in London the other night. So this is definitely a picture of what is not a picture... got it?

100% of the copyright here and 100% thanks to Mr. Jed Pascoe.

I just shot the picture...

Look around carefully... there's always a yellow suitcase, any airport you travel to.

The first out of two public debates of the two main candidates running to become Prime Minister in Spain took place today... their gestures speak for themselves.

But, who was opposing whom?

Project 365

That's it. My [mostly healthy] meal today.

btw - it was really fantastic =)

I've spent all the afternoon watching TV, laying down right next to the fireplace... at the end you can't tell if it's you staring at the fire or if it's the fire staring at you.

Good for winter =)

So this is how it looks like when a few blokes decide not to work, pushing everybody else to be late at their offices and schools, or not getting there at all...

Probably one of my favourite places where to get some really cool stuff with very affordable prices. By the way: the chap on the picture is not me, though I'd love to... obviously, I was behind the camera at the time this was taken ;)

Today I went to ask for a new driving license as there were some details to be updated on my old one...

The point is that, whilst I was sitting on the waiting room staring at the numbers on queue, I wondered how bizarre is the fact that we spend quite a lot of time in our lifes waiting: waiting for the bus, then waiting inside the bus, waiting for the train, waiting for a plane, waiting to be called by the Doctor, waiting on a line, waiting for another one, waiting for the red light to turn green, waiting, always waiting...

Life's a waiting game =)

That's it. Raining all the day today...

Banana Pancakes

Jack Johnson

Can't you see that it's just raining?

Ain't no need to go outside...

But Baby,

You hardly even know

When I try to show you

Song is meant to keep ya'

From doing what your supposed to

Like waking up too early

Maybe we can sleep in

I'll make you banana pancakes

Pretend like it's the weekend now.

And we could pretend it all the time

Can't you see that its just raining?

Ain't no need to go outside...

Just maybe, laka ukulele

Mommy made a baby

Really don't mind the practice

'Cause your my little lady

Lady, lady, love me

Cause I love to lay here lazy

We could close the curtains

Pretend like there's no world outside.

And we could pretend it all the time

Can't you see that its just raining?

Ain't no need to go outside...

Ain't no need,

ain't no need

Can't you see?

can't you see?

Rain all day

And I don't mind.

It's been almost half a week with a very limited online access so this what I had in front of my eyes most of the day today...

Gotta check the pictures I've been taking and bring them up here =)

Some use to call it the third age, but it's actually a third youth... specially when you find a group of chaps having fun and behaving like if they were all 18 when they look much older.

Enjoy =)

It happens that the new facade of the "Instituto Nacional de Estadística" building (the spanish demographics stats bureau), which emerged as a result from the comprehensive refurbish held by architect César Ruiz Larrea during the last couple of years, has some sort of hidden simphony beneath its walls, which is written with colors and numbers. It has been called "Diafragma Decafónico de Dígitos" and was authored by sculptor Cruz Novillo.

Each color represents a number (1 is red, 2 is for orange, 3 for light green, 4 is pink, 5 for yellow, 6 for dark green, 7 for purple, 8 for blue and finally 9 for skyblue and/or brown), and also each color has it's own particular sound, as well (red is C, orange is D bemol / C sustained, light green is D, pink is E bemol / D sustained, yellow is E, green is F, purple is G bemol / F sustained, blue is G, skyblue is A bemol / G sustained and brown B). Then colors have been randomly sepparated by 58 different demographic facts pulled from the spanish reality at the time of reconstruction.

The objective of the entire project was, supposedly, to reflect the existig differences on the spanish demographics universe and how these affect and define the culture of the entire country. Also being able to perceive a single art piece (a building in this case) through different senses.

Sculpture meets music, then music meets color, then color meets maths, then maths meets architecture, then architecture meets sculpture, and so on...

Read more about Diafragma Decafónico de Dígitos, or download the PDF from INE's website [in spanish].

Well... it's evident I went to the supermarket today. I was running out of milk, and then took the chance to buy other stuff missing and grab some beer, of course =D

I haven't got any subject to photograph today, so I've decided to take a picture of what surrounds my thoughts most of the times when I'm wondering why my mind has left blank. This is what I frequently end up watching at when I don't have anything else in my head: nothing to say, nothing to do, nowhere to go...

Would be like the snapshot of how intricate (or how simple) my emptiness can become... sometimes =)

I went out yesterday to shoot my 38th 'Project 365' pic but then, suddenly, I've found some unexpected audience which resulted in a sort of planning rethink...

Yesterday NASA beamed the Beatles' song "Across the Universe" to the space, by aiming a giant antenna in Robledo de Chavela (Madrid, Spain) at Polaris.

The transmission is being aimed at the North Star, Polaris, which is located 431 light years away from Earth. The song will travel across the universe at a speed of 186,000 miles per second. Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney expressed excitement that the tune, which was principally written by fellow Beatle John Lennon, was being beamed into the cosmos.

"Amazing! Well done, NASA!" McCartney said in a message to the space agency. "Send my love to the aliens. All the best, Paul."

Today I've been there...

Across The Universe

The Beatles

Words are flying out like

endless rain into a paper cup

They slither while they pass

They slip away across the universe

Pools of sorrow waves of joy

are drifting thorough my open mind

Possessing and caressing me

Jai guru deva om

Nothing's gonna change my world

Nothing's gonna change my world

Nothing's gonna change my world

Nothing's gonna change my world

Images of broken light which

dance before me like a million eyes

That call me on and on across the universe

Thoughts meander like a

restless wind inside a letter box

they tumble blindly as

they make their way across the universe

Jai guru deva om

Nothing's gonna change my world

Nothing's gonna change my world

Nothing's gonna change my world

Nothing's gonna change my world

Sounds of laughter shades of life

are ringing through my open ears

exciting and inviting me

Limitless undying love which

shines around me like a million suns

It calls me on and on across the universe

Jai guru deva om

Nothing's gonna change my world

Nothing's gonna change my world

Nothing's gonna change my world

Nothing's gonna change my world

I've brought home today some new glasses I have been wanting for months: 'Sidra' and 'Chiquito' glasses as they used to be called here. Plain simple but beautiful at the same time.

Sometimes empty glasses remind me of white papers yet to be written...

Project 365

Yup.

A month later we went out for Christmas Dinner with some friends and colleagues, after finding out that it was impossible to find a decent place where to meet and have dinner in Madrid during December. So we went to a charming place called Lucca.

...and, it also worked quite well as my brother's birthday gathering =)

So I've picked up today my car's brand new key with remote opening buttons included, as the original key was broken a few months ago. I've paid them 135€ for it.

Might be an expensive keychain they have attached the key to...

I've spent most of my evening today putting together a bulk of different-sized invoices, so this picture is kind of what I've been looking at over the last few hours.

Quite a lovely place where to have a soft hot colombian coffe blend or a [hard] drink, after (or before) visiting the famous San Lorenzo de Escorial Monastery, also known by some of the people around as "the hell's door".

Magic performances are scheduled on fridays at this venue; cool!

Fresh paint on a park chair near my workplace... hope it works fine for week 4, on my 2008 weekies challenge: "fresh".

Lucky that I've found this around, as it was kind of driving me a bit crazy =)

Just wondering if it would be worth attending Madrid's Rock In Rio this summer... too many people does not means the same as quite a good show.

I don't have anything to "cap" the lead on the right hand side. Any suggestions?
