Managed to get out and photograph the very shy and elusive Dartford Warbler at long last!, bit of a long shot and heavy crop but I liked the pose so much that I picked this one out of all the others to post, a second or two before I pressed the shutter button a dog started to bark and this little fellow stretched up over the gorse to see what all the commotion was about, lovely to see and hear these pretty little birds! :)

On another note, I have just knocked up a Website www.Digittalia.com its still under construction and only on free hosting until I finish the construction so it might be a bit slow to load etc but its been long overdue and for all the people who have been nagging me to do it, you know who you are so check it out! ;) lol

From Wikipedia, "Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (2005) – an opera house and performing arts centre dedicated to music and the performing arts. It is surrounded by 87,000 square meters (936,460sq ft) of landscape and water, as well as 10,000 square meters (107,639sq ft) of walking area. The Palau de Les Arts has four sections: the main hall, the master hall, the auditorium, and the Martin y Soler theatre. It holds many events such as opera, theatre and music in its auditoriums. Panoramic lifts and stairways connect platforms at different heights on the inside of the metallic frames of the building. The building has a metallic feather outer roof that is 230 meters long and 70 meters high. The building is supported by white concrete. Two laminated steel shells cover the building, weighing over 3,000 tons. These shells are 163 meters wide and 163 meters long."

teaching old PC new speed! by Lit World

An inexpensive way to make my old PC run faster. The older, electro-mechanical, spinning SATA III drive (at 7200 RPM) would get me around 165 MB/s write speed on a good day. The cheap SSD (PCIe 3, not even faster PCIe 4 or 5) inside the box above gives me 2500 MB/s (~15x faster!). Reads are even faster! Also, my Windows machine (2015 Lenovo K450e) is now as quiet as a butterfly!!

(I've upgraded my 2015 MacBook Pro as well with another of this exact same SSD.)

Shot with Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens on a Nikon D200. Colors/tones adjusted in Lightroom. Cropped, and saved as JPG file in Photoshop.

This little guy is always difficult to photograph since he is usually running around or hiding up in a tree. When I was finally able to get a decent composition in the right light...he stuck his tongue out at me! LOL! Asian Passage - San Diego Zoo. Taken 5/6/2021.

Excerpt from the San Diego Zoo website, "Although red pandas like to eat bamboo and live in China’s bamboo forests with giant pandas, don’t let their name fool you. Formerly known as lesser pandas, DNA studies show that red pandas represent a unique family that diverged from the rest of the carnivore order, so they are now placed in their own unique family: Ailuridae. The Chinese name for the red panda is hun-ho, meaning fire fox. The red panda’s reddish coat and white face mask offer camouflage among the red moss and white lichen that cover the trees of its bamboo forest home."
