The Tricolored or Louisiana Heron does not swim but wades in deep water. Audubon called this bird "Lady of the Water" because of its grace and beauty. It resembles the Great Blue Heron but is much smaller and more delicate. Its white belly clearly distinguishes it from all other Herons. It strides briskly through the water, sometimes running after fish and catching them with a thrust of the bill. This action is so fast that it can only be caught with a shutter speed of 1/4000th of a second! Their chicks have a reddish coat but turn blue with age. The name Louisiana Heron is very misleading because
it also lives in coastal states from North Carolina to Texas, and especially in Florida. ~ A Very Elegant Bird ~ Fun To Observe
Another capture taken at the Retro Classics car show. These two cute bears looked at me from behind the not so very clean windscreen of one of the classic cars there. I don't remember what kind of car it was, probably an Opel as the bears are wearing sweaters with an Opel logo.
Age old thought experiment in special relativity involving identical twins - one of them makes a journey into space in high speed and returns home to find that the twin who remained on Earth has aged more.

Twin peaks on the collapsing barn. At this farm we were amazed, that it is still standing, with the winds we had this past Winter. Lots of scrap metal and a old truck. The snow is slowly melting, hoping Spring comes soon. Saskatchewan, Canada.

A much more subtle & quieter image than my usual style. My all time favourite seascape location from New Zealand.
Whitetail doe and her twin fawns. I'm always happy to see our native whitetail deer, especially the does with fawns.
Montell, Uvalde County, Texas in September 2021
We've been seeing deer on this pasture for a while, but the does would always lead their fawns into the tall grass. This morning these two were acting very bold, not bothered by our presence, and momma was also comfortable with us. Got a lot of nice photos.
Our beautiful world, pass it on.

I couldn't find much specific information on the Faur family in Clinton,IA, but there are 22 gravsites in the Clinton/Comanche area for them. The 1951 census lists a family of 5 living on the bluffs of Clinton where Springdale Cemetery is located. Whatever the history, the loss of 2 infants is a lot for any family to bear....

Reculver Towers in Kent. An Anglo-Saxon monastery was founded on the site in 669, reusing the existing defences, and the church of St Mary was built near the centre of the earlier fort. Documentary evidence suggests that the site had ceased to function as a monastic house by the 10th century, after which time the church became the parish church of Reculver.
Remodelling of the church in the 12th century included the addition of tall twin towers.
The medieval church was partly demolished in 1805, when much of the stone was reused to construct a new church on higher ground at Hillborough, but the twin towers were left. They were bought, repaired and underpinned by Trinity House in 1809.
This photo was shot at golden hour in a place called old barns. And yes, it is a beautiful landscape covered in farms. Some legitimate old barns that look ready to collapse, and many still working farms.
