A visual of my first short row exercise
Joanns Preemie Booties with Mock Cable Ribbing. I thought it would be a good exercise in short rows since I'd really never done short rows, I'd only read about it. It was definitely a bit tangy and kept me paying attention, afraid I would mess it up. This pattern includes several techniques I had never done before so it was a good pattern for me to work with.

A quick tutorial on 'how-to' make this fun Bouquet using a Scallop punch.
The designer paper used is Ginger Blossom (from SU!) and the butterfly is from the "Touch of Nature" stamp set.

Using 2 to 3" wide strips of fabric, lay them out in a pleasing arrangement. I like this arrangement, but before I got to the sewing machine, I dropped them. As you'll see, I ended up with a slightly different order. No matter! This is crazy quilting... few, if any rules! And by the time it gets embroidered and embellished, it won't matter!
