The fourth generation Firebird built on the aerodynamic styling of the 3rd Generation, While the live rear axle and floorpan aft of the front seats remained largely the same, ninety percent of the Firebird's parts were all-new. Major mechanical improvements included standard dual airbags, four wheel anti lock brakes , 16-inch wheels, rack-and-pinion power steering, short/long-arm front suspension, and several non-rusting composite body panels. Throughout its fourth generation, trim levels included V6-powered Firebird, and V8-powered Formula and Trans Am. The T5 five-speed manual transmission was standard with the V6s, as was the Borg-Warner T56 six-speed manual for the V8s. A four-speed automatic was optional for both, featuring built-in electronic controls beginning in 1994.

The Firebird 4th Generation received a mid life facelift for the 1998 model year. Major changes included a new hood and front fascia with dual intakes, retracting quad halogen headlights, circular turnsignal and fog lamps, a front license plate pocket, lower fender air vents, unified-style lower door raised lettering for each trim level, and a new "honeycomb" rear light panel, with circular reverse lamps. In the dashboard, "Next Generation" reduced-force dual airbags became standard. As before, the Formula and Trans Am again received a close derivative of the Corvette's 5.7 L V8, the LS1 of the C5 Corvette

The Trans Am GT was a limited edition available for 1994 only, The GT package included 245/50ZR16 tires and a 155-mph speedometer, while the standard trans Am had only a 115mph speedometer and a much lower top speed limiter. All of the 1994 Trans Am GT options became standard in 1995-2002 as part of the Trans Am package, and the GT name/package was dropped for 1995.

Ouch. What to do here? Possible art car candidate? It runs great, just great, really just great. It still needs the wipers fixed though. Sigh.

With a standard 3.44 final drive, at 80 on the freeway you're winding about 4500 RPM. Megadollar race builds of the Austin A engine wind to 9000

During the 'Gawler Rail Substitute' service phase.

I built something!

Two years ago I was asked (as usual) if I have a SWAT van that could be used in a potential Arkham set. I didn’t have one then (or did I?) but 30 minutes later I did.

Back then I figured that if it won’t be used, then I can always sneak it into something else as a taco truck or a TV van, whatever, but it went thru.

The build is pretty straightforward except for the front, that utilizes an odd combo of plates and brackets built in every direction on a footprint of a 2x2 brick to create the distinctive Chevy Stepvan headlight assemblies with it’s eyebrow turnsignals. No doors, as these things usually drive open, and since the doors are of sliding type, I don’t think it’s feasible in this scale.

As usual, I built it in different colors, and different lenghts, but the final product is pretty close to my initial sketch.

This is also the set where I was allowed to wish for an element for the first time ever in my career here at LEGO, and I went for a tyre that I needed for years now.

It’s a real gamechanger for me, and you’ll find that tyre from September 12th in the 76300 Arkham set.

Keeler California, population 66. Located in the Mojave Desert just east of the town of Lone Pine. This is one of those dinky little towns in the middle of nowhere that we usually fly right through while traveling from point-A to point-B. Not this time! I spent over an hour here and it was worth every minute.

Only 4 speeds and 3 syncros. To get into first, pull back it into second for an instant. The second gear syncro winds up to let you slide it easily into first. Reverse requires pulling up on the shifter as you go right and back.

Best guess is that this is a 1957 Dodge Royal Lancer...love that fin!

While the exterior styling of the 997, the Carrera and Carrera 4S share only their roof panels with the previous 996 model but the most noticeable change is a return to the circular lights.

The Carrera 4S has a 3824 cc H6 engine delivering an output of 355 bhp as the name implies it is an all wheel drive car.

The 997 was revised in 2008 for the 2009 model year. The updated Porsche 911 (called 997 Gen II internally and 997.2 informally. Changes included a new ngine with direct fuel injection. The engine is mounted 0.4 inches (10 mm) lower in the tail section, revised suspenson, new front bumper with larger air intakes,, headlamps with newly optional dual HID projectors, a new LED taillamp design, and LED turnsignals, redesigned sports exhaust,

shit. i think i just fell in love with my bike again.

i've been having issues with the ugly pullback riser assembly on the custom. it's going to be a pain in the ass to swap it 'normal' sportster/dyna riser. i still may...

next project: relocate the front turnsignals, possibly a low-profile rear taillight, black strut covers, and new rear turnsignals, exhaust heatshield removal, and black header-wrap install

Of course, everbody would recognize this as a Volkswagen, but the emblem! The emblem!!

If I was the owner of this Type 2, I'd be mad upon discovery that the giant, signature "VW" badge had been stolen.

I wonder if the owner could find a reasonably-priced replacement on eBay. I hope so, anyway.
