Michaëlskerk is located in the North Holland village of Oosterland. This reformed church, dedicated to Saint Michael before the reformation, is seen as the oldest church foundation in Wieringen. Oosterland lies on a steeply rising plateau approximately 5 meters above sea level. The old village was set up as a church ring village, built around the church, where the roads came together. The dungeon is bordered by a fence and a hedge and is located at the highest point in the village
The church building, entirely built in tuffstone, dates from the 11th century and is an example of the Romanesque architecture. The walls of the ship have a thickness of approximately 85 cm, they have been repaired in many places. Brick was used for the tower, which dates from the 13th century. A special feature is the octagonal brick spire that was built early in the 17th century. The base of the tower is approximately 23 meters high. The tower only has two narrow light gaps and double reverberation holes on each side at the top. Wiki
Built in 1853 this tunnel heads from Palazzo Reale to the Piazza del Plebiscito enabling the king to flee to the sea and the soldiers to defend the palace quickly. The enormous underground halls and floors were originally tuff stone pits and also contained old water cisterns. Being forgotten the tunnel system became a depot for illegal cars and bikes confiscated by the police in the 1920s/1930s. During the hundreds of bombings in World War II the people of Naples used the rooms as shelters. Since 2014 the tunnels are open for touristic tours.
