Embarking on an unforgettable journey to the rugged eastern tip of Madeira. ⛰️

The hike across Ponta de São Lourenço is easily one of the most breathtaking experiences on the island. No trees, just raw volcanic landscape, salt-spray air, and views that stretch on forever. It’s a bit of a trek, but every step is worth it for a view like this.

If you go, bring plenty of water and a windbreaker—the Atlantic breeze doesn’t play around! @Visit Madeira

A sunrise that reminded me why it’s always worth going out, even when the forecast says otherwise 🌅

I almost stayed home this morning. The weather didn’t look promising and the light felt like a gamble. But Llyn Padarn had other plans. Soft mist drifting over the water, perfect reflections, and a calm that wrapped around everything as the sky slowly came to life.

Standing here in the stillness, I felt a deep sense of peace and clarity. Moments like this can’t be predicted. They’re earned by showing up. Being out, waiting, trusting the process will always beat staying home wondering what if.

Sometimes the most perfect conditions are the ones you never expect.

It's been an awesome Holiday in the South Island/Te Wai Pounamu, and arriving back to the 'Big Smoke' (Auckland City/Tamaki Makaurau) I composed this image along the Auckland Waterfront, on the drive home.

I have been visiting the Kotare here for the past year, and find them beautiful to watch. When the rain came this Kotare looked right at home, in its element. A sentinel. Almost appearing stoic/defiant in a bleak situation. Hence the title 'Resilience' as in resilence of spirit. Not the sharpest of images, and there is the noise from the square crop. But I like the authenticity of this image.

Thank you for your visit, comments and support.

Have a great rest of week.

Just breathtaking. 🌅 The White Cliffs of Dover at sunset, proving that some views never get old. Pure serenity.

Coming out of the darkness and into the light isn’t always liberating — sometimes it’s jarring, even traumatic. The shift can blind you, leave you uncertain about your next step, or make you want to turn back.

But moving forward isn’t about sudden clarity. It’s about the discipline of keeping your head down and taking that next step, even when you can’t see the full road ahead. Shadows pass, light returns.

In those moments, the only real compass is the process you’ve built for yourself — the routines, the resilience, the quiet strength you’ve been shaping long before the hard times arrived. Trust that process. It’s what carries you through.

Nobody is going to save you, except yourself sometimes. People will support you, in your hardest of times, but taking it as a victim's view is probably the last thing you want to do.

Week 3 of Kim Klassen's Be Still lessons. "Trust the Process".

I am still working my way around the thought of doing still life.

I am enjoying tiny scenes that I can create with what I have on hand.

Soon to venture out and experiment further.

"Just when I think I’ve mastered trust, I continue to be tested again. It is as if someone up there is saying “She hasn’t gotten the lesson yet. Let’s keep putting situations in front of her that continue to test if she can REALLY trust!”

Jean DiGiovanna

“I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.”

― Douglas Adams, The Salmon of Doubt

Each of us walks a path that is deeply our own ⭐

Even when we share life with people we love, our journeys are not meant to be identical

We are here to learn different lessons, to grow through different experiences, and to unfold in our own timing. One person may bloom early, another much later, and neither is ahead or behind — just moving at the pace their soul requires

😍The people we love are not meant to walk for us, nor are we meant to carry them through every step of their journey!

❤️Love sometimes means allowing others to follow their own parallel path without trying to control it, compare it, or feel threatened by it.

Their growth does not diminish ours, just as our evolution does not take away from theirs😊

✨️Life brings each of us unique challenges, joys, moments of grief, healing, and transformation.

This is true in friendships, in love relationships, in parenthood, and within families.

Even our children come into this world with their own inner compass and lessons to discover. We can guide, support, and love one another deeply, but we cannot live each other’s path

🙌When we accept that everyone grows differently and in their own season, we create more peace within ourselves.

We stop measuring, resisting, or fearing the journeys of others and instead learn to honor both their becoming and our own.

📖The same wisdom is found in the book "The Big O Meets the Missing Piece" by Shel Silverstein.

📖In the story, the “Missing Piece” spends its life believing it needs someone else to complete it, while the Big O teaches a different truth: wholeness does not come from losing ourselves in another person’s path. Instead, each being must learn to roll on its own, to grow independently, and to discover its own balance before truly sharing life with someone else

📖The book gently reminds us that love is not about possession, dependence, or walking the exact same road. We can love deeply while still honoring each other’s individual journeys.

We are not here to complete one another but to walk alongside one another!
