The colors of blue hour following sunset at Imperial Beach Pier.

The southernmost city in California, IB is tucked between San Diego and Tijuana making it an interesting crossroads of people, entertainment, and culture. And, in my humble opinion, a great spot for photographs.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a black and white day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate Sliders Sunday. Since we went apple picking yesterday, I decided to go with a flying apple. Strangely enough we never had a flying apple on this photostream. And I’m not talking about levitating apples ! I’m talking about an actual apple with wings and flying… I’m truly surprised but then again my gin and tonic soaked memory is … well…soaked in gin and tonic. So without any further delay: flying apple. Be carful, not to get hit by this flying apple !!

When an apple hits you in the head you might feel a little bit disoriented or lost for a while, some hurtful childhood memories may resurface. I'm talking from personal experience...once my son hit me with an apple by accident since his abilities to throw something at a moving target with success are as good as mine… It felt like I almost got a concussion !!

My first Stag image of the season,against the backdrop of the magnificent Exmoor scenery. It took me about 4 hours of walking,crawling and crouching to get within range for this shot.

Unlike Park Deer the Exmoor deer are truly wild and very wary so getting close is always a challenge .

Hi everyone... I want to give your wonderful guys and gals an update... although I still struggle with chronic pain on a daily basis, some days are better than others. I still cannot shoot like I was used to... stooping, bending over, sitting on the ground, etc as is necessary to shoot macro, still isn't possible for me. For now, I must be content to (re)edit and (re)publish shots in my archives.

I've been quite lucky to be given this head for a review. I absolutely and honestly love it! The bento sliders work smoothly and overall the HUDs [easy to use] offer a variety of features to customize your avatar. I truly suggest it and certainly will be one of my gos to! Although autumn has now well and truly given way to winter here in Melbourne, there is still a great deal of colour around if you remember to take your time, stop and smell the roses, like this blazing golden yellow and orange beauty which I saw on poking its head out from behind a for sale sign in the front garden of an Art Deco villa on a walk in early June. I fear that the house for sale is likely to be demolished and replaced with more land intense town houses, in which case this rose, which I suspect to be a Royal Circus Rose, will probably be torn out. I sincerely hope not.

Although the day I took this photo was the 2nd day of winter, it was a lovely and sunny day with bright blue skies: although there was a definite crispness in the air if you were out of the sun.

Circus roses were first bred in 1956 in the United States by Herbert Swim. They were introduced later that year to the American market by Armstrong Nursery. Herbert Swim was a famous rose breeder who bred roses for blooms that would hold up to the hot summer sun. He is credited with raising a number of varieties of roses over his career. The rose "Royal Circus" (also known simply as "Circus") was created by crossing the Floribunda rose "Pinocchio" with the hybrid tea "Fandango" rose. The result is this gorgeous yellow rose that produces vibrant reddish edges.

Magnolias - Santa Gemita - 080122 - Enhanced-5

A truly brilliant blue late-winter sky near Traverse City, Michigan--made all the more colorful in contrast to this sun-drenched building on the beach. It was one of those suddenly miraculous days amidst many many grey ones.

A little blast from the past from the time we visited Chester and took a quiet wander along the river. Such a lovely mix of old stone, soft water, and those gentle English greens.

This bridge has a real sense of history about it, the kind that makes you slow down and imagine all the footsteps and stories that have crossed it over the centuries. Chester itself was a striking place to explore, with a wonderfully deep past - founded almost 2,000 years ago as a Roman fortress. You can still see traces of those walls wrapped around the old town. Over time it grew into a medieval trading centre, complete with those famous black-and-white Tudor buildings and some of the best-preserved city walls in England.

The wildflowers along the riverbank added a splash of colour to one of those pleasant, peaceful moments that travel gives you sometimes when you’re not really expecting it.

For a truly out-of-this-world travel destination, it’s hard to match the Salar de Uyuni. One of the flattest places in the world, the 4,000-square-mile salt flats were formed by a prehistoric lake. Visitors travel in 4×4 vehicles across the expanse of the salt flats to visit locally fashioned structures made entirely from bricks of salt. The salt flats are at their most spectacular after a rain, when water sitting atop the cemented salt acts like a mirror, perfectly reflecting the sky above.
