Las lagunas de Chacahua es un parque nacional lleno de naturaleza, color y vida.
Una de las áreas naturales protegidas más representativas de la costa de Oaxaca son las Lagunas de Chacahua, que comprenden la Bahía y Laguna de Chacahua y las lagunas de Tianguisto y Pastoría. Fueron decretadas como Parque Nacional el 09 de julio de 1937.
Las Lagunas de Chacahua fueron declaradas sitio Ramsar en febrero de 2008, al encontrarse en la Lista de Humedales de importancia Internacional.
Es el hábitat de tres especies de tortuga marina: Laud, Carey y Golfina, las cuales anidan en las playas de San Juan y Bahía de Chacahua.
Entre los servicios ambientales que brinda este Parque Nacional destacan: la captura de carbono, la producción de oxígeno, el valor estético para el turismo, la producción de alimentos para diferentes organismos como el camarón, recarga de acuíferos y mantenimiento de la biodiversidad.
