Suzanne takes you down to her place by the river

she is wearing rags and feathers from Salvation Army counters

and the sun pours down like honey on our lady of the harbour

and she shows you where to look among the garbage and the flowers

and you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there

she feeds you tea and oranges that come all the way from China Leonard Cohen

The name is Mór-Ríoghain in Modern Irish. It has been translated as "great queen", "phantom queen" or "mare queen". The Morrígan is mainly associated with war and fate, especially with foretelling doom, death or victory in battle. She often took the form of a raven during battle.

It is said she alighted on the shoulder of the great warrior Cuchulainn on the battlefield signifying his death. She had also previously appeared to him as an old woman washing clothes on the banks of the river. He knew that this was a portent of his approaching fate.

Best time to troll pike perch is midnight.

You should of know Norway is a land of trolls. And we've seen some. They were sleeping.

I was surprised the storm is a time for photography too. Mists and deep colors transform the view picturesque way.

The shot was taken in a small trip around Lofoten while we could not go fishing.

Thank you for all your comments and favs.

A bit of fun at the garden centre... Blue eyes and nasal hair to die for - what's not to love?

Iceland, Vik

Playing around more with Bespoke's awesome Django Troll Head and skin!

Such a delight to see this gem from long ago, this was my first trip to the Denfield Rd. overpass west of London, Ontario. We affectionately called it "trolls bridge" named after the unruly homeowner on the south side of the bridge who thought it was his private bridge and hated photographers. Here we find a Canadian Pacific candy faced GP30 5000 leading a pair of GP35's with the first section of a train westbound back on June 21, 1975.

Bright sunshine and a plethora of tourists made shooting tricky so I elected for my Super Stopper and guestimated, resulting in a 188 second exposure of the sea stacks at Vik (Iceland) also known as the Trolls.

Thanks in advance for any comments or favourites you may wish to make.

Do Trolls actually live in trees? Perhaps it's a Gremlin?

Cat's in the cradle

My child arrived just the other day

He came to the world in the usual way

But there were planes to catch and bills to pay

He learned to walk while I was away

And he was talkin' 'fore I knew it, and as he grew

He'd say "I'm gonna be like you dad

You know I'm gonna be like you"

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon

Little boy blue and the man on the moon

When you comin' home dad?

I don't know when, but we'll get together then son

You know we'll have a good time then

My son turned ten just the other day

He said, "Thanks for the ball, Dad, come on let's play

Can you teach me to throw", I said "Not today

I got a lot to do", he said, "That's ok"

And he walked away but his smile never dimmed

And said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah

You know I'm gonna be like him"

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon

Little boy blue and the man on the moon

When you comin' home dad?

I don't know when, but we'll get together then son

You know we'll have a good time then

Well, he came home from college just the other day

So much like a man I just had to say

"Son, I'm proud of you, can you sit for a while?"

He shook his head and said with a smile

"What I'd really like, Dad, is to borrow the car keys

See you later, can I have them please?"

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon

Little boy blue and the man on the moon

When you comin' home son?

I don't know when, but we'll get together then dad

You know we'll have a good time then

I've long since retired, my son's moved away

I called him up just the other day

I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind"

He said, "I'd love to, Dad, if I can find the time

You see my new job's a hassle and kids have the flu

But it's sure nice talking to you, Dad

It's been sure nice talking to you"

And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me

He'd grown up just like me

My boy was just like me

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon

Little boy blue and the man on the moon

When you comin' home son?

I don't know when, but we'll get together then dad

You know we'll have a good time then
