I’m looking after Tom and Trix next door. Trix is normally squirmy and elusive, but today he sat and posed for me!
Philippine dance performance. I think the costumes with the pretty lacework and embroidery are meant to reflect the Spanish colonial period of the islands, but I'm no authority on the subject. The dance is performed with a lighted candle balanced on the head.
Edited and re-posted. Imperfect in any case, but this one is a little better IMO.

Aus irgendeinem Anfall heraus hatte ich das Bild nach dem tonen zerknüllt, es dann aber doch wieder aus der Tonne geholt. Keine Ahnung was mich da geritten hatte.
Elle s'appelle Trix, en hommage à Beatrix, l'ex-reine des Pays-Bas. Aussi effrayante que fascinante, cette femelle tyrannosaure mesure 12,50 mètres de longueur et 4 mètres de hauteur. Les scientifiques estiment que son poids, devait de son vivant, avoisiner 8 ou 9 tonnes. Trix devait être particulièrement résistante : elle porte les traces de terribles blessures auxquelles elle a survécu pour vivre jusqu'à un âge avancé. Fossilisée depuis près de 67 millions d'années, Trix est la star de l'exposition "Un T-Rex à Paris" : Jardin des Plantes, Galerie de paléontologie du MNHN jusqu'au 2 septembre.
