Tried to make a boring subject into something a bit more interesting!

I saw this crow, after I was taking some other bird photos, it was almost panting like a dog struggling with the temperature it was, feels like 102 ( 39c ). I guess being completely black and without access to water would be bad for them !!

I might post another photo today if I remember and have time : )

The 2015 $100 Silver coin with three Muskox, designed by artist Laurene Spino. The Canadian Mint minted 45,000 of these 99.99% pure silver coins.

Granddaughter II was born early today, a few days shy of the Chinese New Year. The wee one chose to enter this world in the year of the ox; the Muskox will have to do. Take care 😊

Standing at the bridge at Titchfield Haven I saw this Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) hunting in the shallows. Suddenly it surfaced with this European eel (Anguilla anguilla). During a couple of minutes struggle it finally managed to swallow the whole thing. Quite a sight. Nearly missed the finale as my camera battery went flat and I had to rapidly change it!

Gannets at Muriwai New Zealand. From eye-level it looks very chaotic but from up above its very ordered!

HBM! A couple running near a bench in Humber Bay Park West, taken yesterday in Toronto. I was too busy to post these bench photos earlier.

You are working so hard, trying to remember what the light looks like even when you can’t see it, even when you can’t look up, even when you can’t open your eyes. You capture the light for incredibly difficult moments like this when you’re not sure how you will be able to continue on, to help yourself remember what the light looks like, what the light feels like.

try this: when you wake up in the morning, think of five things you are grateful for and then see how your day develops.

A poser. This dandelion tried to hide amongst the forget-me-nots. Sticks out like a sore thumb.

Trying to put order in... my brain? Some things are very clear (close). But sharpness fades as distance grows... only me?

Iris

Plant

Iris is a genus of 260–300 species of flowering plants with showy flowers. It takes its name from the Greek word for a rainbow, which is also the name for the Greek goddess of the rainbow, Iris. Some authors state that the name refers to the wide variety of flower colors found among the many species. As well as being the scientific name, iris is also widely used as a common name for all Iris species, as well as some belonging to other closely related genera. A common name for some species is 'flags', while the plants of the subgenus Scorpiris are widely known as 'junos', particularly in horticulture. It is a popular garden flower.

Trying something different by making it black and white (mostly because there was no way I could make it look good in colour).

Red-rumped Parrot (Psephotus haematonotus) female

Lovely to see a pair of Red-rumped Parrots during a very brief stop at Sneydes Rd. today. They kept moving away from me and eventually tried to hide. The male was successful but I could still see the female!
