Something a little darker for this week’s Tricky Bricks ‘16×16 Halloween scene’ build challenge.

‘Six Bricks Under’.

Bruno Bear could never forgive his wife Lisa Lamb for giving away his childhood LEGO. The only way he could move forward was to bury her alive, six bricks under.

I was the one who came up with the name. It's a TrickyBricks collaboration to build a Fabuland theme around Mad Max post-apoc dystopian vehicles. My build takes the V8 Interceptor and color swap the matte black paint with yellow, and the gloss black with red. The interior is blue. The white is where I have to color swap for the final.

This is part of the Trickybricks collaboration to mash Fabuland with Mad Max. My order of Fabuland characters arrived so I was able to put together a raiding rig in a little over a day. (5 hours).

Thanks to Brick Tsar for the Fab and Furryous name in a comment!

Rays of color burst out from a pulsing rainbow heart, celebrating creativity and diversity.

Rainbow Heart is an exploration of a new LEGO mosaic technique I developed using quarter circle tiles placed on top of a second grayscale mosaic underlayer. This technique accomplishes two goals: 1) The curved tiles can be used to better represent organic shapes, and 2) the grayscale underlayer shows through the negative space where the quarter circle tile does not cover.

This essentially increases the resolution of a 1x1 “pixel” of a LEGO stud in a mosaic allowing for smoother color blending and smaller mosaics than would be needed to achieve the same effect using only 1x1 studs. The quarter circle tiles can also be rotated into the four different corners of each pixel, increasing the color availability exponentially.

I built this for LGBT+ Pride Month for the GayFOLs Pride Parade and for Tricky Bricks and Tips & Bricks Rainbow Build Challenge.

The build has around 4,500 pieces, uses every color of quarter circle tile that exists except for metallic and dark tan—those are very rare), and was greatly aided by the LEGO DOTS product line.

It starts with an origami "kimono" wrap with a personalized brand letter. Inside is a custom jacketed box made using a 20"x30" photograph. When you open the box, it reveals side branding like a custom sneaker unboxing.

Inside, there are three customized boxes held with ribbon. The red box has a full instruction manual and the two black boxes contain pre-knolled and sorted pieces by type and color. I also included a cut grille piece and painted engine block elements in bright silver.

Max “Bark”-tansky was a FFP (Fab Force Patrol) officer who was driven to the brink when the “Toe-cute-r” gang hunted down his family.

After his revenge using a FFP Pursuit Special he drove out into the wastelands while society collapsed after the atomic war. He now drives the barren desert in search of guzzoline with his faithful pet named “Dawg”.

In a supercharged race for life in his now modified home, “the last of the V8s” Max survives as a scavenger.

Lash your shotgun and knife to the door, grab your crate of Dinki Di dog food, and follow Max on his journey on… Fab Max: Furry Road!

A medieval Spider-Man, based on a Spider-Man fig my daughter bestowed this spider cape upon.

Brick Grimes - best I could do with parts on hand, possibly done before, but I wasn't looking. For an upcoming MOC.

The protagonist from Sturgill Simpson's 'Sound and Fury'

A heavy trooper, just really a pleasant result of placing the respirator on the Hero Factory body

Lastly. My cameo fig from the giant Apocalypseburg build at Bricks Cascade 2018, when I stoked Mark and Boone's #beardedapocalypse flames.

Thanks for checking them out!

I had such a lovely time hanging out with Flynn, Richard, Holly, Moto and all of you who watched the stream on YouTube ! 😍

Looking forward to being back on soon! Happy Friday!

As I was working with parts from Bricks and Pieces and the Everyone is Awesome set to sculpt a self-portrait - the functional abilities of the Max-aroni elements led me to naturally evolve the MOC into a full-on rod puppet. Debuted on TrickyBricks, weeks before any information about the awesome LEGO Masters episode, this mini-me has been a welcome addition to our LEGO-filled household. He even has is own brick badge now, and looks forward to meeting folx in person at a future event!

Who Disturbs My Slumber?!

This guy does. It’s been a crazy busy week with very little sleep, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to join in the #legodisneyhabitats build challenge. I had tons of ideas but only barely managed to squeak out one of them this week. Would love to do more of these eventually. Fantastic collaboration; be sure to check out the rest of the awesome habitats featured on Tricky Bricks.

David Rose in LEGO Brickheadz form, from the award winning show Schitt's Creek <3

Built for TrickyBricks Brickheadz Challenge, these were my first custom Brickheadz I had ever designed. It was so tough to find a series that had not been done before, as I've watched almost all of my favorite IPs get amazing custom BH designs over the past few years. Thankfully, watching this show during Lockdown led to some magical inspiration.

The Wedding outfit was an exciting challenge to undertake, and I'm really pleased with how they all turned out. Holly Wachtman also made Moira in Crowening form, which was absolutely hilarious and amazing!

I look forward to making more characters like this in the future, for sure! It was so much fun!

Velosity vs. the dragon

The fastest jouster in Astra, Velositi rides into battle against dark dragon that has been terrorizing villagers in a far corner of the kingdom.

This is my entry to a week long build challenge by Trickybricks from Lego Masters US to build a hero in a scene and have it fit into a 24 x 24 base plate with overhangs allowed.

BUILD TIME: 3 hours, 2.5 hours for the "fast build" challenge I made for myself on Sunday afternoon.

I watch Trickybricks on their Youtube channel and they presented a challenge which was to come up with something that was nothing but nature. So I decided to build a great tree since I was working on the Lego Ideas Treehouse at the time, and why not have a cool looking cave with the rootball of the tree hanging from the ceiling and then thought why not a waterfall! Tada Knotty by Nature :)
