Cheap Trick short set in between Lightning bolts. I have to give the band a lot of credit in light of the stage collapses that have been happening including to them!!
We never made jack-o-lanterns when I was a child. Firstly, Halloween has only really been celebrated in a big way outside America for the last 12-odd years; and secondly, I suspect my mother made a vow never to eat pumpkin again after she left her convent school. I first made contact with pumpkins in my early 20s.
Therefore, I have to sadly admit my pumkin carving abilities will never attain the accumulated heights of the Americans.
Luckily, Zippy offered to stand in and up the cuteness quotient of this shot.

We went trick or treating with our little cousin Frankenstein. I am wearing the Zebra hat I made for Lukas two years ago when he was one year old. It kind of fit me. Well it stayed on my head anyway. The girls kind of had wimpy costumes this year - just hats. Although I did wear my alien lamb mask to the school Halloween parade in the morning. The other parents must have thought I was nuts. I was the only parent dressed up and I was wearing this huge alien head.
They weren't home. Ha. We went trick-or-treating with our friends Christy, Jeremy, David, Bethany and Maddie. Would have taken more pictures but it was raining off and on.

Hindolveston's finest, Tricks and Sticks, who are a fabulous drumming band of village children led by Ronnie Prudence, entertain the crowds.
They are a phenomenon - I've heard them in the Village Hall and in the Church and I can report that they are best heard in the open air. Quite loud.
They got a huge cheer at the end of their set. Lost count of the number of times I've seen them but they are mesmerising.
