Yes, they are ready starting with power that emanates from a twin-turbo V6 generating 389-hp and 479 lb.-ft. of torque or Toyota’s powerful i-FORCE MAX hybrid twin-turbo V6 delivering 437-hp and 583 lb.-ft. of torque from 2,400 rpm. There is steep competition in the midsize truck field with the likes of the Nissan Frontier, Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma, and the Chevy Colorado, sister to the next-generation 2023 GMC Canyon which we just experienced in AT4 superhero form.
During our time with a Desert Sand Metallic model, a few days of mountain biking with the Fit Fathers team in Patapsco State Park in Maryland kept the adventure flowing. Aesthetically, the GMC Canyon AT4 sensationally features a strong 15-pod grille with the red GMC insignia, a front skidplate with recessed red two hooks, 18" rims powered by 265/65 R18 Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires, 2” lifted suspension, cornerstep rear bumper, and a wide stance thanks to an upgraded off-road suspension package providing 9.6” of ground clearance.

This week Automotive Rhythms spent more time behind the wheel of a 2022 Wind Chill Pearl Toyota Tundra Hybrid Capstone CrewMax, which felt more luxurious than industrial. I didn’t want to accomplish my typical yard tasks and Home Depot runs with this particular truck, especially with its lovely black and cream two-toned interior, jeweled chromed exterior trim, and 22" dark chrome alloy rims. However, we did go mountain biking together. For rough riders, you might want to go with the Tundra TRD Pro, which easily handles all terrains on and off-road. The MSRP for the Tundra Hybrid Capstone CrewMax is $73,530, but my test model was a bit more due to the $1,045 AVS+ Load-Leveling Rear Air Suspension, $425 Wind Chill Pearl (white) paint selection, and the $579 non-skid spray-on bed liner.

The pivotal reason I leaned on RAM was due to the Mopar connection. The fact that they custom manufacture hundreds of accessories for RAMs is priceless. From running boards and bed steps to vinyl decals, lift kits, and tonneau covers, you can't go wrong with Mopar. Of course, the Rebel model is already rugged and features an aggressive front fascia, performance-tuned shock absorbers, skid plates, 1” higher suspension, Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires, 18x8” off-road rims, and a bulged performance hood to house the stalwart 5.7-liter V8 HEMI e-Torque engine. However, I tapped into Mopar’s massive inventory to outfit “Soul Rebel 22” with a few essential parts that included:
