trial walking tour

One of the team Gas Gas on one of the sections at the 2004 British round of the world trials at Hawkstone Park. Shropshire.

42101 leads 42105 through Rockdale on its return run from Waterfall, bound for Enffield.

This was 42105's second mainline trial run since being restored.

So many beautiful specimens........!

Lit with one Godox AD600 on a C-Stand and fitted with a large octabox, fired using the excellent Godox FT16 trigger system.

Glaze trials can be quite fun; I am not sure who did these, they have no great age as they are on Johnson blanks (as opposed to H&R Johnson). So it might be nice to think they are Poole Delphis contemporary, but I think they are rather later.

The names of the base glazes are marked in the rear of each tile:- Apollo Yellow and Space Gray

The Scottish National Sheep Dog Trials, a fantastic event to attend. The mastery and control, often done a great distances, was a sight to behold. The real true meaning of one man and his dog. Felt quite privileged to witness this working way of life first-hand.

Back in April 1987 I went on a bus hunting adventure which included a visit to Scunthorpe where I photographed Lincolnshire Road Car Leyland National B49F 2829 RVL142R at the depot sporting a trial livery.

Cahors : GP de France Motos Trial

Pose trials with the Doll Chateau K-14 body, after hot glue sueding. It seemed to help a bit, but really only in the hips, shoulders, and neck. I’ll probably remove the knee layers, since it causes them to slip out of place here and there.

I did add it to the back waist joint, and it helps keep it side-lying pose better.

This body can do a lot more than I thought originally. It was fun to think of weird poses. I won’t get this adventurous after she’s painted, so I got it out of my system now. hahaha ♥

Last photo group is more of the technical stuff.

The tail is a ball jointed spine-extension, and can move in any direction.

The waist, after sueding, can hold some nice angles.

Back shot of the knees, so you can see they are strung at there.

The back-waist joint can move to either side. It pulls apart ok, so you can move it around.

another image from Trial Harbour in Tasmania's rugged west coast. I took 188 photos from this location - birds, waves, beaches, rocks, sand - such an inspiring place. I've posted about 5 similar photos to this one already, but they are all different in their own unique way and I just love them all! The two birds and the turquoise waves make this shot for me.

The high speed train on a recent trial run between Leeds & York, 10-7-73

Notes: Trial Bay had been recognised as a safe shipping refuge from southerlies ever since its naming after the wreck of the Brig Trial in 1817. Between 1863 and 1866 some 90 ships and 243 lives were lost, forcing the NSW Colonial government to act. In 1870 Parliament voted £10,000 towards the construction of a breakwater to form a “harbour of safe refuge” at Trial Bay.

The Trial Bay Gaol was established in 1876 as an experimental Public Works Gaol where the inmates would construct the breakwater. Although work started in 1877, it was not completed until 1886 due to difficulties in working the hard stone, inconsistent funding and contractual problems.

This may be a settlement that housed the building workers on the gaol, there is evidence of stone working in the right foreground. There is also a telegraph pole and wire on the slab building in the left foreground. The gaol site is situated behind and to the photo right. The settlement appears strangely deserted, the residents may be hard at work on the gaol building.
