A map showing how poltwt is trending on Twitter in the UK.
Forces from as far afield as America, Sweden, Iceland and Australia are today (Friday 22 March) taking part a global Twitter day. The 'tweet-a-thon' has been organised by LAwS Communications based in America, with the aim of highlighting the issues facing police across the world.
GMP will be providing extra updates on arrests and calls to police throughout the day, in addition to regular updates about local policing. Updates will be provided from the Force account @gmpolice and all the neighbourhood twitter accounts.
Deputy Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said: "We are keen to support the day and hope it will give people around the world more information about what officers are doing to tackle crime and keep people safe.
"We are continually looking at ways we can provide people with better access to the work their local officers are involved in, and social media is a great way to achieve this. We already have officers in each neighbourhood using Twitter and Facebook, and have our first community reporters going on patrol.
"I hope that we will have some community reporters able to take part in the Twitter day and give their insight and views about what police are doing."
All GMP social media accounts can be found here: www.gmp.police.uk/socialmedia and the global 'tweet-a-thon' can be followed from the hashtag #poltwt
In 2010 GMP carried out the first Twitter Day where the Force used the social network to send out details of all the incidents that it dealt with during a 24-hour period.
DCC Hopkins added: "I would also ask people to give us feedback on how we
are using social media so that we can continue to develop the conversations taking place."

Opened in 2004; originally part of GEX (August 9th, 1962-1977), later Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theatre (May 1982-1993), Chuck E. Cheese's (1993-May 2002)
Citi Trends did a gut remodel of this space, so there aren't really any CEC remnants to be found. The stockroom may be a different story, but I have no way of knowing since I was denied restroom access back there. This was my childhood CEC in its' post Pizza Time Theatre years. When it was in operation the entry was in the middle of the storefront, with the gameroom split into two sections. The kitchen, salad bar, prize counter, restrooms, and a small alcove with coin-op style rides (allegedly the former King animatronic lounge) were located to the left when looking towards the back of the building. The showroom covered the entire back wall, and of course any traces of it that might still exist would be in Citi Trends' stockroom. The ceiling-mounted Skytubes were mostly situated in the center in front of the showroom entrance.

The Jensen Interceptor, probably one of Britain's most obscure sports cars of the 1970's. Built during a time of motoring turmoil in the late 1960's, the Interceptor was Jensen's attempt at getting in with the trend of sports cars filling up the market such as a variety of Lotus and Ford cars such as the Capri.
However, the Interceptor faded into curiosity as the 70's went on, with many reporting unreliability, or failing to match its contemporaries. Either way the cars never truly sold in the numbers hoped, with only 6,400 cars produced. Eventually the car ended with the Jensen company in 1976, although in recent years replica cars fitted with much more reliable engines from Corvettes have been produced to combine that magnificent Carrozzeria styling with some good old fashioned raw motor power.

This is the store's back wall, and where the showroom was located. Having opened in 1982, Hampton began with a "balcony" stage, as seen in this video from 1988. Not too long after that the stage received a "porch" façade, and in 1993 it was converted to a 2-stage, which is the form it was in when I visited as a kid. When CEC moved in 2002 it got a brand new Studio C Beta, and this location's stage and animatronics were sent to the store in Florence, Kentucky, which was owned by the same franchisee; Pasqually's bass drum head, however, ended up at Chesapeake Sams Circle. Florence is a store I had on my bucket list, but unfortunately by the time I had a trip planned there in April they had already begun renovating and the stage was trashed.
There is a doorway leading into the Citi Trends' stockroom, which utilizes the majority of the old showroom space. On this visit I opened the door a little to take a quick peek inside, but a motion sensor alarm started loudly chiming so I quickly shut it and walked away. From the brief glance I got of their backroom it just looks like a large gutted space, but I wish I had just a few more seconds to take a photo unsuspectingly.

Eles sempre fazem a gente pagar língua... ¬¬

Christmas window display at the new TrenD shop in Downtown Disney. We stopped by Downtown Disney for a few hours the night before our cruise. We've never been into the actual Disney parks at holiday time, but at least we got to see a few of the special displays this way.
