The treehouses are cleverly built, with trees coming through the construction in at least three places. One is on the lovely balcony and here it's reflected in the window - along with the reflections of some of the photographers.
My friend Ariana has an uncle that lives in a small town in the mountains north of Santa Cruz and he built this meditation treehouse. It's about twelve feet up and squished between these small redwoods. He's a great guy with a heart of gold.
My photographs of Peter Bahouth's (amazing!!) tree houses were featured in Jane Field-Lewis' latest book 'My Cool Shed' (London, 2012), after which they then went on to go viral (many times over), become an Air Bnb sensation and as of Jan 2016 have now been declared the "Most Desired Rental in the World'.

Treehouse at the Tyler Arboretum, Media, Pennsylvania, architects unknown. (The firm the resposible for this design is documented on site, but I couldn't find it on the Tyler Arboretum website.) This photograph was taken a "point blank" range at 10mm, so there is some intentional lens distortion. The floor of the treehouse is the oval-shaped, translucent piece at the top of the steps. One of a number of spectacular tree houses installed at the Tyler Arboretum this summer.
May 5, 2022: The treehouse at Kids Adventura Garden in Thousand Oaks, California. The KAG, part of the Conejo Valley Botanic Garden, is open Sundays from 11 am to 3 pm. I used Lensbaby Trio/Sweet 28mm Lens to take this photo. 132/365
Here's an up-close of some of the trees in the massive forest/city rendering I posted a few days ago. They're modified versions of the Lego Treehouse Lego released a while back.

SW1 RLCX 511 sits waiting for a cut of grain cars to unload at the Pasta plant here in Columbia, SC.
This was taken during a ski trip this past weekend. It is a "treehouse" that the owner of the home built to enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains surrounding his house. There was a nice sunset that night that I tried to catch in the windows of the treehouse.
I have to credit Flickr friend bjtales for the image I used to be the "nude" behind the couch! The pose and doll in that shot were just too perfect!
I finally found the time to put the railing on the treehouse, it still needs the top handrail board. I borrowed a nail gun, boy was that nice,I should have bought one years ago when I started this project. The opening in the railing is the location for the spiral staircase. Trying to figure out where to start the first step so that the last ends up properly keeps me awake at night. I had to take my shoes off and use my fingers and toes figuring out the math for the ballister spacing yesterday, LOL!! I failed at math all through Highschool, and my spellin ain't so good niether!
