There are very rare situations where I have to stop and take an exposure (or 10!), this was one of them.
A detailed view of a mature tree trunk in the forest, hosting a colony of bracket fungi. These shelf-like growths add texture and visual interest to the bark, highlighting the cycle of life and decay within the woodland ecosystem.

Using your imagination and depending upon the angle, one can see the open mouth of a ferocious monster with sharp lower teeth in this hollow tree trunk.
Certainly, I didn't go out looking for this shot but couldn't resist as I stared at the object imagining I was looking at some fierce animal about to take a bite.

This tree caught my eye as its new leaves were catching the sun brightly against the charred background. The tree beside it has shed its bark and just started new red leaf growth. Trees recovering at different speeds after bush fires.
This particular snowstorm on March 9, 2023 were all taken from the comfort inside my home! It was a particular nasty snowstorm. So glad I was able to capture it.
