Circle of trees in fall

This is the big purple tree in my living room.

We'd had summer and winter already this day, but on the way back down the northern side of the Las Canadas plateau, we stopped and were treated to spring in a conifer forest. The smell of cool, fresh pine needles and mist burned off by the sun was just superb.
