An Autumn Evening by Lucy Maud Montgomery
Dark hills against a hollow crocus sky
Scarfed with its crimson pennons, and below
The dome of sunset long, hushed valleys lie
Cradling the twilight, where the lone winds blow
And wake among the harps of leafless trees
Fantastic runes and mournful melodies.
The chilly purple air is threaded through
With silver from the rising moon afar,
And from a gulf of clear, unfathomed blue
In the southwest glimmers a great gold star
Above the darkening druid glens of fir
Where beckoning boughs and elfin voices stir.
And so I wander through the shadows still,
And look and listen with a rapt delight,
Pausing again and yet again at will
To drink the elusive beauty of the night,
Until my soul is filled, as some deep cup,
That with divine enchantment

Hopefully some of you have gone out to Organ? It is a very beautiful state and everyone should visit. I was gendering around and found a small wine shop on the corner of a street. It was a great place to stop for some water and take in the coffee shop area near by.
The Tree Hydrangea in my yard is starting to bloom for the season. I bought it many years ago (pre-internet, via mail-order) as a foot long bareroot tree and now it's over 10 feet high. It's my favorite tree out there. It's also the only tree out there. lol. :-)

Many of our contacts, friends and family know that we really enjoy going and having a good ‘snoop’ in other people’s gardens! So, for quite a few days in our year, usually from early spring to late autumn (and occasionally winter too) we go and support worthy charities where possible.
On Saturday 18th April 2015 we went to Denham village and Higher Denham, which is not too far from Uxbridge and Gerrards Cross. On this day we chose to support the Thames Valley Air Ambulance Service. You can find out more about them here:
This particular charity depends totally on charitable donations. Through Open Days in 2014 they raised £54,000!
I was staggered to discover that they launch a helicopter, an average of three times a day. Each flight costs £2,500. So there annual running costs is an eye-watering £2.8 million! They provide a vital emergency service that would not survive without the help of the public and events like these, and the generosity of people like you and us.
We went to four gardens on our tour; one very large one at a house called the Wind In The Willows, two smaller gardens and one garden that was very long and divided into 5 ’rooms’.
The photographs in this album are of all four gardens and contain flowers, trees, people, a lovely young dog (a Rhodesian Ridgeback who was only seven months old), and some close ups of nice people who allowed me to put a camera in their face!
It was a very bright afternoon and strong sunlight is often not too good for photography, but I did my best to make use of shadows and backlighting when I could.
My special thanks to the owners of the gardens for allowing me to take photographs of their hard work!

So I'm having my lunch in my car in Lowe's parking lot as usual, listening to my audiobook, watching the birds and seeing all the same grackles and doves and starlings when all of a sudden a flash of red goes by my windshield and lands in a tre a few feet away - I dropped my sandwich and grabbed my camera and started clicking.
I am officially addicted to bird photography.
I know these are badly focused, but I am determined to polish my technique and get some really good shots of these babies.
