tree house i spotted near the canal, first image is looking up at it second is at the top looking down
John Logie-Baird, inventor of television (for a given value of "invent") grew up in this house. The current owners have clearly decided to have a bit of a clearout.
The pattern of the round oaks against the taller green trees was what caught my attention here, but I like the way the houses echo or extend the pattern.
I kind of surprised myself with the photorealism of this one while I was processing it. I think that happens to me whenever something suddenly looks extremely real life while I'm working on it. Now if I could figure out how I did it...best viewed large.

The Spruce Tree House is an amazing ruin. It is one that can be walked to and explored on your own, no ticket needed. Definately worth the visit and walk to. Not quite as a difficult time getting to, like the Cliff Palace and some of the other ruins.

Thinking of fours for today's daily shoot reminded me of our home - a 'rowhouse' for four families. We live at the end on the right. I also remembered that I took a similar picture in January, so I looked it up to compare, and what a difference!

In winter you don't even realize that the roof tiles are red brick. This time of the year we are almost hidden behind the big green trees, which provide a nice, natural fence to the traffic in the street below. We are lucky to live surrounded by trees, and only 3 km (not even 2 miles) from the town centre.
The interesting thing about having four homes in one building, which forms a housing company run by us owners, is that there seems to be an ongoing tension between the two end owners, and the two in the middle. Decisions often come to a deadlock with an even number of votes. Yet, at the same time, the even number seems to create a kind of harmony, or tolerable status quo at least. I could just imagine having three or five families living here - the power relations would drastically change then, if a majority rule was applied.
